Sukhoi Su-30MKI

All the more easier to reject their offering then. Go ahead with the rest of the upgrades & test Uttam Mk-2 on MKI as & when it's ready. Where's the issue or confusion ?
They had proposed Irbis E for Radar upgrade which is again a PESA but is more powerful than BARS and tracks and engage more enemy fighters than BARS. IAF is interested only in AESA which is still not available. Byelka for Su-57 is still in development and will be available post 2025 only, one of the reason why Su-57 is still under development and not considered a true 5th gen fighter till now apart from the engines.

Russian radar offerings still deemed unsatisfactory. And desi option not yet available.

MLU if starts within this year, won't have AESA in it.

Desi option became available last year. They can literally use the same radar that's going into LCA and then switch it out with a dedicated MKI radar later on. Anyway the upgrade will see a few years of flight testing once it begins.

Byelka finished development long ago. But it's not a Flanker AESA.

The one that's actually being made for the Flanker is still WIP.

June this year, apparently.
Are you sure? The Mk1A is expected in June. Flight testing is sometime second half of 2022. My guess is this would be with 2052. Post this is when we can realistically expect any Uttam testing on the Mk1A. Unless of course they think testing on the LSP is all that is required.

Flight testing is next year isn't it?

Second half. I am sure something will come up and it will be last quarter or first half 2023.
The previous news reports on the schedule as well as present news reports indicate 2023. The only delay is in the Mk-2 which was supposed to commence taxi trials this year. It's now officially scheduled in the first quarter of 2023.

The Mk1A's flight testing will begin in June and will be on an FOC'd SP that the IAF has handed over to HAL.

Even if the jet begins with 2052 instead of Uttam, it's not gonna make too much of a difference in the whole scheme of things, since the Uttam is already production-ready. It was about getting a production version of the LCA ready to carry both radars. So the radars can be switched out during testing.
