The best Su-30 variant was/is/ever will be our MKI. MKM/MKA, SU-30SM/SM2 etc. are just its various derivatives.
MKK was just a fighter bomber. MKI is a multi-role Air Dominance fighter. Chalk and cheese, bro.
Far better than you grand delusions.Very helpful reply by you as expected. @Ashwin maybe we should just close this forum and leave entire discussions to the AI bot
Both MKI's Dual-Band IRST and its radar are nothing but enlarged variants of IRST/radar that we're developing for MK2. MK2's Uttam-2 was always supposed to be mounted on a swashplate for better azimuth coverage(+ -100° both sides). This is important for cranking in a BVR fight.
Yeah, just like when I said that MKI will get GaN radar and you mocked, lol.Far better than you grand delusions.
Best Su-30 variant, most definitely.MKI is the best fighter ever apparently. You and those numbnuts Pakistanis have a lot in common.
Inherent advantages of more power, more composites in Su 35 , Canards + TVC in Su 30mki will remain no matter what. One more question after the super sukhoi how will it compare with the Russian SU 35?
Su-30MKI UPG. should be superior to Su-35 in almost most ways. Due to single-seat design, Su-35S will enjoy better top speed, due to more powerful engines, better rate of climb too but that's about it.One more question after the super sukhoi how will it compare with the Russian SU 35?
Nope. MKI can't substitute for a AWACS or AEW&C.will 3 super su30 flying in arrow head formation cover 270° ?
Equivalent to Mk 1 Netra?
Su-35S weighs 18.4 tonnes empty being a single-seater while MKI also weighs the same despite being a dual seater. Don't think Su-35S has that much more composites than our MKI.Inherent advantages of more power, more composites in Su 35 , Canards + TVC in Su 30mki will remain no matter what.
Yes, we're behind but catching up to them very fast under Modi Regime. This 7 year for certification and 7 years for induction looks like BS to me. Wait for official confirmation to know the exact timeline. We are behind the curve with Chinese.
7+ years to certify the upgrade for us ..
Another 7+ to upgrade the fleet.
As far as I know India will be on par with Chinese in 4th generation fighters in another 15 years. ( Susu30 + Mk1A + Mk2 + MRFA) and retired ( Mig 21 + Mig 29 + Jaguars + mirage 2005).
Weapons ( missiles & bombs) also we ll be on par.
Now after all these years of speculation the cat is finally out of the bag. AL-31FP testbed simply means a far better indigenous version has been readied by us. This version may offer better performance and life, IMO.

Oh...my bad.@Gautam
The two F-35s (second from below) appear to be RAF or RN birds judging from the low visibility roundel just behind the nose. The matte grey finish on these is something else!

Cabinet Committee on Security approves procurement of 240 aero-engines for IAF’s Su-30 MKI aircraft from HAL worth Rs 26,000 crore

Cabinet Committee on Security, on September 02, 2024, approved the proposal for procurement of 240 aero-engines (AL-31FP) for Su-30 MKI aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) under Buy (Indian) category from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at a cost of over Rs 26,000 crore inclusive of all taxes and duties. The delivery of these aeroengines would start after one year and complete over a period of eight years.
The engines will have indigenous content over 54%, enhanced due to indigenisation of some key components of aeroengines. These would be manufactured at Koraput division of HAL.
Su-30 MKI is one of the most powerful and strategically significant fleet of IAF. The supply of these aeroengines by HAL would meet the fleet sustenance requirement of IAF to continue their unhindered operations and strengthen the defence preparedness of the country.

What if that JV between India-Russia for Su-30 export from HAL isn't for any normal Su-30 but a stealth one :Those 12 new jets could pave the way for greater indigenous production of the MKI for exports to other countries. It's a way to circumvent CAATSA for the Russians. The T-90 could get the same treatment.
