May it was a CM-400 but I don't think any PAF jets were even in the air at that point to be in range to shoot at Delhi .They will definitely not share the “other stuff” on board those aircrafts, yes, plural!
Flood relief is surely a great cover!
I have a great deal of respect for what @Hellfire posts! His window of operation [5th - 10th] was recently validated when it came out that decision was in on 5th - so he is definitely at a position somewhere (or has a source) that knows these things.
That post sent a chill down my spine - I have a feeling it’s not only a flare up with Pak but something larger at play (can also include a conflict with Pak). Looks like US wants their pound of flesh and they are going to try to extract it somehow!
Sounds right based on information available in Public. However, something tells me that the missile that was intercepted over Sirsa was not a Fatah - the size of explosion was way too big to be a Fatah and there is no evidence whatsoever which can indicate the type of the missile. Some speculate that it was a CM-400 (more probable than a Fatah) - but then also, there are doubts. Shaheen is surely part of Pak nuclear forces, but, that doesn’t mean they don’t have any with conventional warheads. For all their nuclear sabre rattling, they too know that they cannot afford to use a Nuke, so, I am pretty sure they have some BMs with HE conventional warheads - thermobarric may be?
The reason they won't fire Shaheen is that India would not know if they were launching a nuke attack , that too at the capital . Same reason India never shot off Prithvi or Agni missiles .
When the Brahmos was inducted there was clamor to designate it dual use but India made very very clear that it will never be used with a nuclear warhead . In hind sight a wise decision because it opened the way for it to be used in conventional conflict .
As I said before Pakistan is now trying to do the same thing because they found that they had very little to shoot back with in the conventional space . Expect them to designate versions of cruise missiles soley for conventional use .
