Mirage 2000H, MiG-29UPG, Jaguar DARIN III - Medium Multirole Aircraft of IAF

Yeah import Su-57E, lol😍

Referring to the MKI MLU.

We're looking to integrate Meteor/i-Derby ER and ASRAAM to MKI, but Russians as usual are opposing. With our desi AESA radar, Meteor is definitely coming as it was already IAF's original plan.

We are developing Astra Mk3 will Russian assistance, so that's gonna be our ramjet AAM. Meteor is a no-go, MBDA wants full knowledge of our radar. So only the Rafale's gonna operate Meteor.

Once we put Uttam in our UPGs and 29Ks, then combined with Astra 2, their battle efficacy shall increase several times. If possible, upgrade their obsolete Russian IRST with our indigenous one.

Is it necessary to make large-scale improvements to these aircraft with a service life of nearly 30 years, and is the old Russian and French avionics architecture compatible with the new generation of missiles and radars?

Mig-29 is an excellent platform for integration of new systems. It has one of the best flying characteristics of modern 4th Gen aircraft.

Mig-29K is less than 15 years old.

Mig-29UPG second life extension decision is pending. There was even a plan to buy 21 more.

Both jets will get Indian systems.

imo, We should only upgrade the life of present fleet and go for newer aircraft like Rafale.

The point is it's so cheap that we can buy both a Rafale squadron and the Mig-29 without breaking bank, and that extra Rafale squadron can be used for other things, while leveraging the Mig-29 against PAF's lone F-16 squadron in the 2040s before it is ultimately replaced by AMCA.

There are some diplomatic and industrial advantages too, like access to other existing Mig-29 customers of the time, like Egypt and Algeria.

PAF F-16s tucked their tail and ran when our Mig-29s locked them during Kargil war. How many kills it has made is irrelevant to what we're discussing here. Anyways, a counter question: "How many kills has F-22 made thus far?" Yeah, a balloon, lol🤣
I ask "how many kills". I repeat " how many kills so far".

It is relevant.
How many times F22 got an opertunity to face any enemy fighter jet? 0. That you cannot said about mig29.

The Air Force is looking for a buyer for 18 Mirage

The leadership is investigating the possibility of selling them in India, a proposal that has been informed of both the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of National Defense.

Buyer for them 18 Mirage 2000 EGM / BGM which until 2022 served in the 332 Squadron « Geraki » is looking for the air staff, before the wear and tear of the long-term seat. Sources with excellent knowledge of the subject report to « K » that the Air Force leadership is investigating the possibility of its sale, proposal for which both the Ministry of National Defense and the Maximos Palace have been informed. The same sources emphasize that there is a mature ground between the two sides and they do not rule out the possibility of the sale of the ma.

The 18 Mirage purchased in the late 1980s ’ 80 was formally withdrawn in January 2022 with the arrival of Rafale. The problems faced by the 332nd Squadron with the availability of the Mirage 2000 are well known, as well as the fact that. Most « diliters » have been abandoned in recent years on one of the slopes of Tanagra, while some have.

However, there are still users of the legendary French fighter, such as India, which maintains about 50 aircraft in three war Squadrons. Shortly before the expiration of 2023, New Delhi announced its interest in supplying used Mirage 2000 as it intends to. Athens looks forward to further strengthening defense relations with India and the decision to sell the decommissioned Mirage a. It is indicative that in the General Staff of the Air Force they maintain low expectations for the sale price of the Mirage which, as we mentioned, was.

The scripts for the latest Mirage 2000-5

All possible scenarios for the newer Mirage 2000-5 that are in service with the 331 Squadron « Thi. Following the signing of the support agreement, the availability of the delta-wing fighters has risen significantly, reaching almost 5%. These aircraft are still one of the « heavy » Air Force papers that give it significant. However, their more accurate support and the evolution of technology put the airline in thoughts about the future.

As the Air Force progresses in the age of network-centric operations, Mirage 2000-5 shows their age. The thought of installing a Link-16 terminal so that communication with F-16V, Rafale and F-35s can be made possible in the future, was abandoned due to high costs and uncertainty about the effectiveness of the project. This means that the delta-wingers will gradually play a second role, mainly taking on interception tasks, such as the.
One of the thoughts that seems to find several supporters in the General Staff of the Air Force is the sale of the 24 Mirage 2000-5, to finance the additional Rafale market. Within the first half of the war, the Air Force will receive the six Rafale of the additional order by raising the total number 2. A potential purchase of six more aircraft could lead to two Squadrons of 15 fighters each, according to relevant sources. The same sources, however, clarify that it is still too early for decisions and the Mirage 2000-5 will continue to fly in the colors of the War, noting that all scenarios are on the table.

The above equation, however, is not easy for the Air Force to see the « ceiling » of the fleet to reduce. In the long run, it will have economic benefit as Tanagra supports a type of aircraft. The footprint is also expected to be positive in the business sector, with Rafale as multi-role aircraft almost utilizing. In progress, after all, There is support for the long-range SCALP EG missiles that have the Air Force arsenal in satisfactory quantities while.

Greece ordered 40 Mirage F1 from Dassault Aviation in 1974, then 40 Mirage 2000 in 1985 and finally 15 Mirage 2000-5 in the year 2000; this latest contract also includes the modernization of 10 Mirage 2000 to the 2000-5 standard with a large contribution from Greek industry.

So, These are old airframes not the 2000-5. Can be used for spares i guess.

They are old airframes, but have been upgraded to 2000-5 standards. The EG became EGM after that.

But the IAF is still averse to using second-hand jets.
