This is because the Mirage 2000 does not have the same payload capabilities as the Rafale, and my remark did not concern the Mirage 2000 C specifically but the entire Mirage 2000 family.
A Rafale does not need an escort for a strike mission for example.
But sometime a Rafale is overkill! In Africa for exemple...
We are not fighting any African. We fighting PAF, a highly skilled pilots piloting decently potent aircrafts and PLAAF, a super power.

The only real difference comes during strike missions where the M2000 has a very poor strike load.

Only with such loadouts, we need 3 M2000s + 2 M2000 escorts to carry the loadout of 1 A2G Rafale and 1 A2A Rafale.

Will These 2nd Hand Mirages be able to fire MICA missiles at least , and is it equipped with the RDY radar

From twitter, it's gen 1 mirages, it doesn't have Rdy radar and cannot fire mica.

It's question of whether we are going to upgrade or not.
It ll be expensive if we ask Dassault for it.
In case we do on our own with permission, it ll take time to certify our avionics & armaments.

Most likely these are exclusive for spares.

Flyable ones may spare our mirage 2005 sorties for training.. And provide us with more availability during required days..

Indirectly it ll provide us more available platform for fighting.

What is the sense in talking of only the Skills of PAF pilots

I would say that IAF pilots showed greater Tactical skills because they held off a much Larger package of enemy planes , Shot down a F 16 And evaded Amraams

The Battle must be looked at Comprehensively draw the Right lessons

Imagine that there was NO Balakot and Feb 27

And then Later , Suddenly Galwan happened and a Two front war breaks out

We would have been completely unaware of our weaknesses
Do not bring in Feb 27 on different topics. It derails the thread. Please use the respective thread for the same

I fully support he decision to go for addtinal M2K. These 24 aircraft will give us the forth M2k sqn. The final mix by 2025 will be 4Rafale sqn+4 M2k sqn+6LcaMk1A sqn +4Mig-29 sqn+15 Su-30MKI sqn+5Jag sqns. Making it a total of 38 sqns. M2k once upgraded is a very potent aircraft with tech flowing in from Rafale.

This is true sir. Mirage is a great airframe. we can upgrade its electronics. Now our own AESA is about to be operational. We have our own BVRs and EWs. Those integrations should make M2K a great platform to deal with *censored* and chinkis.
