Zorawar itself is still only 1 & a half proto units old. Maybe few years down the line.
The platform/chassis itself shows merit so far. If a SPAAG system were to be built around it now, it would be years before it enters trials. It is definitely worth a try instead of going for an import or another one that would be rolled out assembled here. Initiative lies with MoD and the IA.

Does DRDO even have the manpower required to take on so many projects simultaneously. There's already so many projects hanging. Even the scientists won't be able to focus on social many different things at once.

I don't think even the sanctioned manpower is enough, let alone the filled seats.

Its not about Zorawar, the question is why no movement in this direction.

Today, most of the work is done by the DcPP partner.

maybe until the core platform be delivered as fopm (than the current 2 proto units) so a final more rounded established baseline is approved by the army then it can be diversified into the other use case. I mean we got often complaints like operating person asking for more leg room for taller person to fit inside and i do not think any army person has yet taken a ride on the Zorawar chasis, maybe ex servicement hired for the job by ARDE did but not sure.
Won't stop development partners to plan or start thinking about diverse use like that, but in public all thinking would be around the current deliverable only. Even if such a proposal go to the army/IAf for such version, the officer rep in charge would have it as less priority & won't give much time around it. They are way too focused about job on hand than spending time on futuristic upgrade proposal. All this year I have only once went into a serving army officer room to get one file signed, it was like 3 mins & literally spoke just 2 words in that time. His orderly gave the rest instructions part to us.
