Problem for the Americans is the harder they push allies/ friendlies away, easier it gets for China. Let me be very clear, without India or Indonesia, defence of Taiwan is not possible for the Americans. Any failure to stop or even deter it will result in collapse of the American military image.
The one thing, Americans have going for them is their consumption economy. Everybody sends stuff to them. If the purchasing power of Americans drops, that will be the end of the American prowess. No amount of tech will help. This is the single most important leverage they can play with. Not their military machine, when you go up against a China or Russia which both have the capacity to hit the American mainland.

I believe these SM appas need to go and be banned for atleast couple of years or so. So, people, young people can re caliberate their minds. It's so wild out in SM that any gullible person can be sucked and brainwashed there. The misinformation regarding everything is sky high.

Remember that mid term polls are coming. They need to shore up strength. And an India which already has a mature hinduphobic base in USA is easy target.
But once you get in war of words or tit for tat action.. they can go all out. Right now, they are the bad guys, in their own country.
And any punitive measure isn't in India's interest. We are looking for capital to come in India. And that requires a calm, certain and predictable market ecosystem. A trade war isn't that. But continuity despite trump tantrum is huge signal of stability.
Ofcourse.. we need to wait for next quarter performance before coming to conclusion if investors will pour in .
