In 10 more years, there will be nothing the Russians can offer us in terms of military wares. You can actually say our defence cooperation has peaked. So they have to nurture new markets. It won't be unreasonable to expect Russia will become a major weapons supplier to Pakistan after 2030-35.
Pak will have China to supply them. Russian weapons will not exceed Chinese stuff.

Has GGI lost it ? quoting IA to and Israeli journalist, claiming a SM hit by the army ?
Do they realize the embarrassment they will create for us ?

Men in Uniform fear not even death, the creator maybe, having said that, why-they-did-what-they-did was not for us, it was for the domestic audience back home, a population with growing adolescents, able minds and young bodies, people who need faith in their forces AND FORCES THAT WILL NEED THOSE SAME PEOPLE (recruitment etc), post musharraf the army hadnt seen as many fan-boys till now.

Thanks for the reply.

I helps us if Pak armed forces get the best talent that Pakistan has on offer. You don't require the brightest to join the armed forces - the armed forces will train them to achieve desired objectives. We need the best to be people of science and culture, to be diplomats - this will give us the soft and hard power to get on top.

Please also understand the "big brother" had okayed the events of the 27th, with their support and push the image of "naya pakistan: made a giant splash, "swift retort" became a poster for the "islamic countries under oppression" and China proved it was laying a string of "jagged" pearls around us all along.

I hope that 'big brother' did understand our capabilities, military at least - it is for this reason that i wish the F-16 thing had more proof on offer.

Focusing on the fear you mentioned, the master planner Sun Tzu, who we owe due credit to in terms of all doctrines said one must "Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak", right now we are mastering that, the world did not come to Pakistan's rescue and mediate as they feared war, they stepped in knowing what precedent India might set in its wake, destabilizing more than just one neighbor.

We have miles to go as a force, time has always grounded us when we have flown high (mi17,an32), its time we adopt the doval route more, subduing the enemy without a fight.

I suppose that 'big brother' would have been forced to help Pak, which means that India would have been very much against the big boy - they need support and alliances to tide over the trade war.

Doval wants to subdue the enemy without a military confrontation? I didn't know that, coz news articles always say that Doval is all for military action, maybe quite limited in scope.

The PA is not afraid, they are war tested each day, as i write this, their men are probably in a gunfight somewhere bearing faith in what they do as gods work and death as the prize of humanity (dont look down on this, it only makes them harder), the IA has history as its witness(need i say more), what fun is a fight when your opponent doesn't bring a bite.

I can understand that.

From heading counter intelligence in the ISI to heading the ISI

Promoted for his services in destabilizing the elected government and installing the puppet. Got a severe reprimand from one of the SC Justice of Pakistan for that. If such unprofessional, oath breaking jewels are not promoted than who?

BTW SC Justice Qazi Faez Isa that reprimanded him is now facing trial, both by ISI and media, one of the few Justice I respect.

Another interesting appointment few days back was interior minister Ijaz Shah, another war criminal, Taliban and AQ supporter, plotted to kill Benajir Bhutto, man has long history of abusing state power to silence political opponents.

Pakistan tried to appoint him as Ambassador to Australia but was not approved by Australia because of terror links. Just the right man to send Pakhtunkhwa into a state of no return, hope this clown is leveraged to fullest by agencies worldwide.

We need to accelerate our R&D capability extensively but should stay in the shadows. We often have the bad habit of showing off and making bombastic claims which ends up earning the attention of foreign powers.

Good news is that actually ended a few years ago. DRDO has started making workable claims now. That's also why you hear about stuff only when it's tested, like the new solid state laser and rail gun.

china-US fight is certainly a good indication of what is in store for us. We should let china be in focus and take most of the damage. In fact this fight might well be catalyst for breaking the existing global order. We should sit tight until we are able to manufacture most of the goods in the country. In fact even china was doing the same and all of a sudden they decided to commit hara-kiri under the current regime.

The US-China fight is too big for us to interfere in. We are like the fishes that eat scraps from sharks at this moment.

Condition of vehicle is enough to tell the intensity of blast. We were looking for big number of casualties if this was not a mine proof vehicle. Good thing is everyone is safe and injuries are not serious.

Some people said we can play it both ways when input of such attack were given by security agencies or we can use this attack to bring Pakistan to heel, let's see what is done after this. I doubt if we even condemn it or get a formal statement from a minister.

Anyone from there will be no more attacks from Pakistan brigade watching these images?

How long it took them to provoke new government? Today was the the oath taking ceremony of new parliament, this long, on very 1st day, and this is not the end, there won't be any end thanks to missed opportunities.

I hope so, we are firmly in attack-react cycle now whatever happened to "offensive defence" where cost to export terror to be increased beyond affordability of Pakistan?

Doval saab has been NSA for full 5 years now, wields more power and authority than RM, HM, MEA combined, now even given cabinet rank how many more years are needed for that strategy to work?

I hope I am not branded anti national for asking this.

After having killed a large number of terrorists post Feb 14 , may be we assumed
That the job is over

Internally , we still need to be careful and
Wipe them out

Terrorists will Have an Occasional victory

Pakistan is supposed to have given advance warning of this attack.

Looks like our intelligence apparatus in pulwama is pretty pathetic...
Man that area is den of terrorists and supporters, no matter how strong is your intelligence it will never be 100%, high state of alertness have ensured that we are finding IED every other day but someday we won't be, like today. Instead of going all defensive finding IED's, sanitizing the area we should look at root cause, from where it is all coming, fix that country, these things will stop happening.

Pakistan is supposed to have given advance warning of this attack.
Yes Sir, they did and to make sure that drama is played to gallery they shared it with US too.

We have made a calculation error, the current domestic cleaning led us to believe the ISvsAQvsPAK network would play out if we
pushed them against each other, it seems a "kashmiri" connect has over ridden organisational ethos for them.
There will be a shuffle in command to reconfigure the approach, lets see who and what charge.

The IS vs local terrorist groups / Pak based & origin JeM, LeT, etc never clashed with each other as in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, etc.
Either, we should've waited to see how events unfold or as @vstol Jockey has been maintaining , out here the IS / AQ is just another acronym for a new organization backed by the ISI. You could very well see another Pulwama like outrage whose ownership may well be claimed by the IS Or AQ. What's going to be our response then? Maybe Musa was taken out to prevent such an eventuality. These are extremely murky waters for us to navigate into.

Modi's offensive defence as of now is purely to react to major outrages, which is a step up from how the UPA used to react . As I remarked before, the killing of 5 CRPF jawans a few days ago, the killing of an RR major, etc are all BAU - biz as usual - as per Modi -2. 0. In order for us to prevent such incidents, we'd have to actively engage and arm malcontents within Pakistan. Such a step would have a dynamic of its own and would have international ramifications like the Chinese getting involved to protect their interests. He's not going down that road. I don't even think he's interested in going down that road.

You are making too many assumptions

Improving Internal Security is easier and less expensive than External Covert and Overt operations ; which in any case Require Time to show results
