Chinese Wuhan Virus Thread

A lot of this could be mitigated if these people were taken into confidence and not thrown into rumours. Local admin can feed them for months easily, in their homes like UP is now trying to do. For months they are planning to deal with this virus and it's really unimpressive.

If Modiji told them first thing that they will be fed for months, right in their homes, that they will be provided money to buy and pay rent people won't run like this. Instead he over do his "aaj raat 12 baje se". Your PR agents will present you as some decisive leader who stopped outbreak of deadly virus with these clips later on but please communicate, allay their fears, pacify them, they trust you.

He will still announce economic package, if only he announced it before lock down it would have clam people a bit. Now that economic package it seems will completely be about industrial world and everyone else can take a hike.

Just a few tweaks and your genuine efforts can be very effective.

Points accepted. But to me, this is 20/20 speaking. Had he opened his cards & announced what he did in a phase wise manner as you've pointed out , there'd be the inevitable stampede to rush home further burdening the public transport system. What does that do for social distancing? Besides, 22nd Mar was a trial balloon. What would have happened had the public responded tepidly or were apathetic? Pls consider the magnitude of the exercise. A nation of 1.3 billion ppl have gone on an almost voluntary lockdown. This is unprecedented. There will be slip ups, there are bound to be some. Let's also accept that our rulers and administrators haven't faced such a situation before. The remedial measures, you're referring to are all gradually being addressed. It's quite possible that not all these would be addressed & even if they are , it'd be inadequate. That's in the nature of emergency responses.

News of Indian landlords evicting doctors who are working with COVID-19 patients.

My my the timing of this post of yours is very interesting isn't it

By the way do you know this SOB who goes by the name " super six seven " ?

Who posts shit like this in foreign forums

( News of Indian landlords evicting doctors who are working with COVID-19 patients.)

" So much ignorance is terrifying more terrifying than the actual virus any virus. What a rotten place."

When he is not too busy spreading lies and inciting hatred against India and Indians , especially Hindus among foreigners.

I know it's really hard to identify oneself as a Pakistani in foreign forums, knowing that a Pakistani would be told to fuuck off eventually.

So as usual pretend to be a Western or African !! and spread filth about India

Seriously it's 8 am

And for the first time ever

I am realising the hidden musical talent in my neighborhood.

Somebody is playing the mouth organ lol
But quite beautifully at that.

6 am it was Gayatri mantra , first time ever that too next to a evangelical establishment. One nun I spotted looked quite distressed , possibly effect of Gayatri mantra :p

That's true that we have too many people to manage but thankfully we also have very very good proportion of young population that is educated, listen, behave and make others behave when asked in times of crisis.

We also have one of the largest local administration, that can effectively control any area when people are aware of gravity of situation. Stopping migration would not be that tough if steps were taken in sync not alone.

I will give one example why this late migration have significant impact. In a district hospital my close friend brother is doctor. It's a small district so there wasn't any isolation ward or anything so he went to CMS and said that we need a ward for this outbreak. A room was searched for it and an old locked room was provided. After the stored apparatus was removed Doctor asked wardboy to clean the room, he outrightly ignored and said he will do when he has time. Doctor went to CMS for him to order the wardboy and CMS called almost begging the wardboy to clean the room. Hydroxychlorquine medicine is recommended for treatment. When doctor asked for stock the district hospital couldn't find a single tablet. That's a common malaria drug and a district hospital has none, eventually he reached out to his cousin who is MR and he found couple of those medicines at his house and gave them to hospital.

This is a district of 20 Lac people and a doctor has to call his cousin to find malaria tablets because hospital has none. There are people that have come from out of country, from China and one from Wuhan in this city and thousands have migrated in past few days from Delhi, Mumbai, Banglore and other places. A nearby village found 2 people who showed symptoms, they are now referred to another district.

This is how prepared our hospitals are, they will crash within seconds, seconds.

But it brings tears of joy to note the extraordinary concern in Western media about Indian vices and their urge to turn a indian fart into a imaginery torrent of shit
Oh yeah.... I would consider to the the luckiyest to be an India.... You have entire world who is worried about your well being, and they consider or worry more about you than their own......

I also have a PM living west of my country, who is more worried about Indian citizens than his own, Where else on earth can this possible or available.....

UK has close to 400 deaths, and still worry about Indians..... US had 50k cases couple of days back, but still worry about India..... Why not.... We have somany wellwishers, but.... I hope we will never return this favour... Indians, Government of India, Indian media should only worry about Indians no one else....

People, let's not discuss Pakistan on this thread.

This thread's quality should be maintained.

The information here actually deals with all our lives now.

The only way we could have avoided cases was to ban all international arrival flights back in Feb.

The only people left outside would have been NRIs, tourists and students. So we have 17.5 million NRIs, who likely have accomodation in their guest countries, so they would not be a priority. But the international tourists only number 4.8 million and students number 750,000, many of them in First World countries. The govt could have done something to test and bring back such a small number of people. Our domestic economy would have continued without problems in the meantime.

The fact is these tourists and students are mostly middle class and upper middle class and the govt could have worked with them to quarantine and then bring them back.

Now we have instead shut down the economy of a nation of 1.38 billion people, with half of them too poor to even face a lockdown.

The govt should have taken much more drastic measures much earlier on.

There is no record of these casual labourers... Their ration cards, their aadhar .. point to their homes in UP. It's much easier to feed them in UP, than in Delhi..

Modi is turning out to be a real panouti for India. We arer facing serious problems every year since he took over.
  • 2014 famine
  • 2015 famine
  • 2016 Demo
  • 2017 GST
  • 2018 Deluge
  • 2019 Economy
  • 2020 Covid.
In 1943, when Normandy was being planned, the allies had many very able Generals to lead the operations but they chose Montgomery not because he was a good General but because he was a Lucky General.

Imagine if Congress was incharge for each of these problems.
