ADA AMCA - Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft

In this clip, we can see that the IRST housing has changed. It is now aligned with the centreline, and the unnecessary fairing from the older config is gone.We had also seen this change in the renders shown in a recent show by AajTak.
Afaik, the dome size is the same as that of the LCA AF Mk2 (250mm) but the overall housing (of what's inside the aircraft) is more compact.

Will such design revisions have an impact on the timeline of the project. They are saying 2028/29 first flight.

There's still time in era of affordable supercomputing, automation, robotics, AI/ML.
YF-22 was re-designed in 1987 in just 3 months.
So some adjustments in AMCA should be made -
> Ladder & canopy arc rail should be removed to reduce RCS.
> IFRP replaced by spine receptacle. We can get mixed tankers (boom + chute).
> The IWB widened little bit more.
> SWB should be implemented. MLG can be retracted laterally like in F-22.
> Spherical IRST with stealthy cover.
> Engines big concern & should have stealthy nozzle.

Looks too small to be an eots fairing, specifically if we use the human in rendering for scale.
It seems to be a small bump of some sort, possibly for this.
As amca is supposed to have "electronic pilot".
Skeye is just a camera meant for taxiing, landing and take-offs on the runways. AMCA isn't remotely piloted. I feel it is some other sensor but hope it's an EOTS.

Don't have to be remotely piloted to have autopilot takeoff and landing.

The below bump is "too small" to be an eots fairing.

Also the above the nose irst/eots sensor of amca , given its current position, it will be pretty easy to cover it with an stealthy eots/sapphire dome fairing now.
Previously it was beside the cockpit canopy which made it hard to enclose it in eots fairing.

Could be for Ghatak as it would need it being a dedicated bomber drone.

Can it fit 6 BVRAAMs in it's IWB with folded fins? Coz otherwise it is only borderline air-superiority.

In The latest video with Project Director of AMCA on Youtube , he informed the viewers that Internal Weapons bay Capacity is 1.5 Tonnes

Now a 300 KG Long Range BVRAAM means 5 missiles

Actually it seems that EOTS of AMCA will be smaller in size than F35 / J20 /J35, because the IRST system is seperated for AMCA from EOTS , where for F35/J20/J35 the IRST is combined with the EOTS... Though it is my observation and I may be wrong.

Laser Designator beam doesn't take much space.
here is example of regular pod turret ball -

This can be covered by stealthy cover like for F-18 SH advertised roadmap

F-35 EOTS uses same mirrors & lenses for all above sensors & LD.

No idea about J-20/35 but in F-35 -
- The EOTS does rotating IRST function of lower hemisphere + lower DAS does fixed IRST function.
- The upper DAS sensor does fixed IRST function for upper front conical sector.

This prompts us to think that when front upper + front lower + side DAS sensors have front hemisphere coverage then why EOTS does more sweeping IRST function.

so the launcher, adapter , release mechanism gadget etc would weigh NIL ?

As per DRDO pics, our Adaptor, launcher per AAM are designed as per MIL-STD 8591 & different models weighs around 10/25/40 Kg, these should be considered as pert of A/c empty weight.

AFAIK, Astr-1&2 AAMs are 154Kg & Astr-3 SFDR Gaandiv is 220Kg.
So 220x6=1,320 Kg is inside 1.5 tons limit.

J-35 IWB is already wider, extending beyond belly edge.

I pointed earlier the max stealth load compared to 4gen jets, like AMCA Vs F-18 SH both using same 2xF414 engines.
So when F-18 SH can carry -
2 AMRAAMs on corner of intakes
+ center FT or EW pod or EWP stealth pod with 4 AMRAAMs
+ FT or dual rack launcher on inboard pylon
= total 10 AMRAAMS equivalent load, then they can be brought & arranged close to fuselage in IWB & SWB also. 🤷‍♂️
Something already demonstrated in certain way is not question of stress, limits, capacity, etc.
