F15EX has also the RCS of a farm door ! (as Su30MKI : a big radar, with big range (specially for the F15 AESA one) but a poor stealth feature)
RCS of a non stealth fighter is not at all a concerns now. None of the existing lo aircraft will have a chance against the existing stealth fighters in BVR, and in case of non stealth dual more than RCS the EW duite, situational awareness, a2a missile & aircraft's kinematic performance will be the deciding factor.

In terms of platform usage, the IAF will not go for F15 until they have SU30 MKI in their inventory, as MKI is a much more potent platform than F15. The IAF had already evaluated the options and decided on Rafale. If the IAF is given the choice to buy a few more squadrons of fighter planes today, they will go for the Rafale. If the F35 is offered at a similar price range, that may complicate the situation, but I still believe they will go for Rafale.
Yup potent, but question is in which universe/earth? It iven failed to score a kill against f26( a mediocre aircraft against F15)

It's barn door... but a very small barn door. Lol. EPAWSS has done a great job at being able to get the F-15EX in range of IADS it also was able to hide F-22 and F-35 during combat exercise. EPAWSS reduces the range an enemy can fire its missile.

We have also received information pointing to two very long-range AIM-54 Phoenix shots dating from the 1970s. One apparently involved a target drone downed at just over 126 miles after the missile was launched from an F-14A Tomcat. The other, reportedly achieved during a training exercise in Iran, in January 1979, saw an AIM-54 hit a target drone at a range of 132 miles.

And it wasn't an Aim-120D3 it was just the D or they would have said it was the new upgraded D3. The Aim-120D3 first test was on June 30th of this year.
The F-15EX has the Super Hornet APG-79 radar with a bigger antenna. The APG-79 was used on the 5th gen X-32 and has recently had a major update. It is state of the art. The F-15EX has also had RCS reduction, I don't know to what level, but Boeing said they can get the F-15se with the weapon pod, to a similar frontal RCS to a clean Super hornet or towards the F-35

I do not get your argument. Are you saying, if the IAF gets a chance to procure another couple of squadrons, they would prefer the F15x as it's better than the MKI and not the Rafale?

So a US Spectra is working but a french made probably not, as usual....

Actually the F-15EX had some losses which deep down I Lulz because in my opinion the F-15EX is nothing more than a welfare program. USAF didn't want it but they are stuck with it. Having said that the F-15EX is the most advanced and capable 4th gen fighter.

?? The EX has standoff and escort jamming, which is what I think innominate was meaning. Not up to the level of the growler, more like the EF-111
The Rafale has self protection with spectra.

The Aussies won't make a public statement. I can assure you the growler was in training mode. I can give aussie examples of our pilots saying to growlers that they didn't do much on training exercises. The answer is, we'll be there on the day, for you to really see what we do.

The SU-30 and f-15 are similar in guns combat. So i don't dispute that the SU got a kill. The SU won't say the same about the F-16, FA-18, eurofighter or the F-35.

It was from here, I guess only base cost is calculated

Given we will need full armament the total cost will be high & almost similar to early rafale deal.
It will be far more than the Rafale deal. The qataris paid 12 billion$ for 36 f-15QA's.

@Bon Plan. I forgot to include the Rafale, who were also at pitch black. The SU would have a hard time with guns too.

What else do they get besides the jets?

Buying 36-54 f-15EX's is better than investing in a strategic bomber which will be basically useless for most of it's life in an Indian context. A squadron of f-15's can carry the same payload as 3 tu-160's of guided munitions or standoff missiles. You also have a reliable A2G option.
IAF isn't buying the f-35 unless it's offered with license production in mmrca. And the f-35A will be only procured in a G2G deal in in blk4 FOC configuration. Their won't be a sale for the f-35A's before that.

6.2 billion $ was just for the aircrafts.

The other 6 billion should most probably be for infrastructure, weapons, simulators and training.

It's for the same reason the first mmrca for india failed. Since we only took the cost of airframes manufactured. Not the weapons or training or simulators or LCC for maintenance.

They also paid like $361 million per EFT (it could be in euros though, I forgot) , something like 24 EFT at $6.7 Billion

I am not telling that IAF will not go/will go for EX in mmrca2. What i am saying is MKI is a mediocre aircraft against all the teen aircraft in service today except F14(ofcourse latest version ) when comes to BVR.
If i am the DM & i am abundant with fund, i would definitely go for F15EX as a replacement for Jaguar & the MKI pieces which completed 15+ years of service.

So from the mighty F-15 EX armed with the mightier EPAWSS, which could camouflage those VLO airplanes, we've already downgraded our expectations by quite a few notches haven't we?

Of course we can't call the EX a flying pig so we put lipstick on it & call it the most advanced & capable 4th Gen FA .

Then we sulk when we get called midwits.

You have a guy with his big hooves, the F-15 EX, who wants to fight against a fine blade, the Rafale. ;) :)

eh....no. You forgot refuelling and the logistics of having to keep multiple flights to be planned for 1 single mission. So no, its not the same.
