Khujli is now showing his true colors as the agent of anti India forces. This exodus of migrant labour from Delhi is a very well planned move done at the behest of his foreign masters. The world is pretty shocked about the way this virus has been contained in India and they want to disrupt this at any cost. Khujli and his gang is working on their behalf.
Some folks sold India for few units of electricity. Damn!
That said, New Delhi is not that big of an epicenter right now. Bigger problem is punjab and maharashtra.
I think, even migration is not that much of an issue in longer term. This disease WILL spread. One way or the other. There will be NO vaccine for 2 years or so.
May be better way is to isolate known vulnerables. Unlike USA/EU, our vulnerables are smaller as a fraction (AFAIK, and honestly an assumption). So, may be we should provide ways in which older and vulnerable folks can be better isolated from younger folks.
I doubt, no one expected so many migrants to be stranded. It was said that many labourers would be left on site with basic food and water, even if they did not earn anything or house helpers would be paid their salaries. But employers have done otherwise and asked them to leave. This is because of panic and no one expected - trains should have been arranged for the succeeding 24 hours, to get people home.
And there are these legends who still need their maids. Her face alone is enough to give you permanent erectile dysfunction.
To be honest this was a pink flamingo. It should have been expected. There should have been temporary arrangement for their stay.
Rural Urban migration is taught since class 8th from past so many years. Any IAS worth his salt should know that process. Now if you shut down business what you expect?
This was a miss. A massive miss.
That said, I have seen it happen all the time. Contractor brings labourer from villages for doing trenching and then leaves them. I came across many people with entire family in the tow. Many begging for money to return. I was in B'lore once and saw many folks from Maharashtra in such predicament.
Someone should have worked this out.......
May be, they should restart Indian Railways for few days and move people and/or accomodate people everywhere they can.
