Been hearing about a lot of movement from Taiwan on the semiconductor/electronics front. Apparently the Taiwanese want to diversify from China to elsewhere & India is a primary target. They don't just want to set up shop here but transfer critical know-how in this sector. In return they seek support elsewhere(market access, strategic support and to a much lower degree military know how). Don't know how true this is. But I do know the Taiwan govt. has a "New Southbound Policy" and a lot of important people from Taiwan have made visits to India recently, some visits were more visible than others. It’s their choice if they want to loose the market. There is no shortage of players and such blackmail is not going to help.
You are a semiconductor industry insider. Do you know anything of it ?
