Will we be in trouble for the spares of mig 29k because of Russia Ukraine war?
Considering the size of Russian Airforce they are not using any substantial power over Ukraine. So as of now, there shouldn't be a question about spares and support.

Ammunition of various types might see delays. But spare support for fighter jets, as of now should not be a problem.

4 Rafale M in stobar can perform role of how many Mig 29k ?
Mig29K like it's other Russian cousins , if other things are fine, would easily give an availability rate of 65%+ , but the faulti FADEC of RD33 is a major problem. That brings down the effectiveness.

Rafale M should be like 70% minimum.

@picdelalmirand-oil calculated Rafale against Su 30 mki saying 36 Rafale s can perform I think 200+ su 30 performance.

With availability, sorte rate, maintenance down time, pylons, weapons carrying ability. Effective ness of mission success.

Both Rafale & F18 won't give us source codes to integrate what we want.
Not sure in the french case. I think it's a deal done with the first IAF Rafale order (SPICE and ASTRA integration for exemple)
F-18 Super Hornets are definitely a better bet though the thought of a front line US platform in service
SH18 was not amoung L1 and L2 of MMRCA.
SH18 line will be closed in a near future. So the "in service" will be shorter than the french proposal.

Over a period of 20 years , it's more like 16 Rafales against 22 Su30MKI.
No reason it can't be the same than IAF Rafale fleet, that is rumored to be excellent.
Was talking about the 4 used ones. The new ones should be upwards of 75%.

I don't think they are comparable anymore. Compared to the Rafale F4, the Mig-29K is obsolete.

In terms of range, payload, avionics, performance, weapons and logistics, the Mig-29K is completely outclassed. An upgrade will keep it relevant, especially against Pakistan, but it's not enough to fight China.

Not at all.

The higher availability and turnaround gives it 2x capability. So about 80 MKIs, in theory.

But the difference will be quite small in the first 3-4 days. The MKI will be able to keep up with the Rafale, even if 25-30% lower at the time. But from the 5th day onwards the difference will grow larger and larger every day, to the point where comparison will become meaningless So the MKI will have to go down for maintenance after about 10-15 2-hour sorties. Rafale should be able to manage 100-150 sorties before going down. And it can also get back up faster than the MKI. So that's about 3x sortie rate over the course of a month.

Assuming an entire month, with all 36 Rafales being available, it is possible to do that, and with 80% availability for the MKI, to match the 36 Rafales, we will need 108 MKIs. Over 4 days, 36 Rafales will compare well with 56 MKIs.

Mind you, this is only sortie rate, not technology. The reality is the 36 Rafales should be able to generate a 5 or 10:1 kill ratio versus the MKI, so the actual difference will be even greater, making the two jets incomparable. Simply put, the 36 Rafales can wipe out our entire MKI fleet, in theory. Of course, the kill ratio will reduce once the MKI gets upgraded.

But this also means we can in theory wipe out the PAF with just 36 Rafales.

That shouldn't necessarily apply to the IN due to the small numbers needed, about 36-45 at best. But yeah, it's a disadvantage for the SH over the Rafale M. A bigger disadvantage is the lack of future upgrade options.

So the Americans wait until there's a QUAD event before they send their aircraft for testing, so that the political negotiations from the QUAD summit can conveniently overshadow the test results.

Some YT chanels are reporting that they will be offering loyal wingman, unmanned refuellers along with f18s.

Probably based off this slide from a presentation by Boeing:

It's very likely to be a political deal if both make the cut.

L16. nothing new.

I don't think they're talking about Link-16 (because India doesn't use it) but about how the F/A-18 can be a bridge from the Indian Navy's current US airborne platforms like P-8 and MQ-9, toward acquiring potential future platforms like MQ-25 or MQ-28.

Much like how Lockheed used to advertise its F-16/F-21 as a "bridge" toward F-35.
