No, we remember LCA. The sheer incompetency of lazy HAL and ADA. A decade of delay and lives lost because we believed their words.
AMCA SPV is not over. There should be a private alternative to have a capable airforce in the long run.
Well let's see, the previous one fell apart, the new ones deadline is pushed to 31 Aug from 16 Aug, and ADA will stay nonetheless even there too, the EOI is issued by them soo...
I have a question by the way, what happens to that crashed Mk1, is there a standard process to replace crahsed aircrafts or something?
I went and read more on SPV.. That was supposed to be ADA-HAL + A private player.
Now it's more open and less dependent on HAL. But still depends very much on how much kirna industrialists of India are willing to put in R&D and pool their resources.
They have the capacity, need govt policy to not punish risk taking.

Any chance we might still be able to hit the design goal of 5.5t empty weight with LCA Mk1A? I recall reading that ADA/DRDO is trying to increase % of composites in the airframe + landing gear mods.
Nope .. the MK1 line is about to close or has already . There will no more MK1's made.
Also its end of August , did anyone hear about the Astra firing from the MK1A which was supposed to be at the start of the month ? Just pathetic .
Just the Astra firing, but I'm not sure, read it in a TOI article. However, the EW suite would probably have already been tested on the LSP variant of the MK1A.
All these RAM coatings are bound to reduce Tejas' RCS even further. Nice
