Arent't they too fat to enter in the cockpit ?

LOL

from the above message
" With Private sector been contracted for subassembly of the fuselage, HAL is confident that from 2019-20 onwards it can raise production up to 19-21 aircrafts once the production line stabilises."

@Abingdonboy @Aashish @Ashwin
more promises?
Been saying this for a year now.

In fact capacity can be 24/year from same lines if outsourcing can touch 80%

Who will supply engines and radars? Why increase imported content by increasing production when indigenous solutions are nearing quickly
Mk.1A has nothing to do with indigenous solutions, a Mk.1B/+ whatever can be produced when needed to incorporate indigenous solutions that are still 4-5 years away from being operational.

MK1A has imports. But if these are made too quickly, then more imports are needed to keep production line running and preventing from shut down. MK1 is for buying time while maintaining expertise till indigenous solutions come

if Mk1A doesnt fill up the required numbers soon, the IAF will be forced to import entire aircrafts.
bringing in the Mk1A in higher numbers is a better solution -
the indigenized Mk1 can still pave way for higher indigenous content in MkII, AMCA and other aircraft based off the LCA.

Yep , if sancho were here, he would have told the same thing..

If you keep waiting for indegenous solution for everything, you might even kill the project validity..

There is no capacity deficit or any urgent needs for aircrafts. India has enough aircrafts for defence as of now and can definitely do well with 123 additional Tejas and 36 rafale by 2024.

Indian funds are limited and excess imports will drain forex. India is not China with large manufacturing segment and export oriented activity.

Tejas MK1A is being delayed as Tejas production line can't be stopped abruptly when production is finished and also to ensure Su30 line workers get some additional work after the Su30 production is complete. We have limited resource and it must be balanced for long term benefit

Tejas Mk 1 A will be assembled In Bangalore and Su 30 is being made in NASIK

Su 30 will continue to be made for at least Six years as we have no other option

Everything is delayed ; Rafale ; SE ; PAK FA ; Tejas

Tejas Mk 1 A is delayed because it is Not yet ready

The modifications asked for by IAF will take time

It will be ready for serial production only by 2020
