LCA Tejas Mk1 & Mk1A - News and discussions

Only the positivity speed is moving at a snail's pace.... 😡

I still remember Quota Chaap Donkeys from HAL had promised to deliver 4 LCA by March 2016 8more by March 2017 and thereafter 16 per year. So all 40 along with all 18 trainers should have been inducted long ago and they should now have been delivering LCA mk1a which was scheduled to be completed delivery by 2024 after which the earliest 2 squadrons were to be upgraded to mk1a standards and right after that LCA mk2 was to be delivered at full pace of 24 per year.... 😐

Look at it now LCA mk1a will complete delivery by 2028-29 if at all Quota Chaap Donkeys work properly and MK2 is pushed to 2030... 😡
Those early stage mk1 were way below quality imo compared to todays mk1a. Moreover , do you notice the modularity in current making? Huge improvement, thousands of hours worth of manpower were wasted before to make the Ioc mk1. Less composite use, you needed to take out entire plane to fix even minor problems. Now the servicing throughout airframe life is way easier, could take out part of plane where the problem is to fix, no need to reinventing the wheel. Modular build in manufacturing is a massive progress. No wonder IAf complained initially.

Whatever you highlighted was already discussed, negotiated and agreed upon along with production schedules as above during Manohar Parrikar's blitzkrieg meetings between HAL, ADA and IAF.

The only change is use of Uttam Aesa radar instead of Elta 2052 which was earlier going to be used in all the LCA mk1As to be delivered by HAL. Now Uttam mk1 Aesa radar will be used from 2nd or 3rd LCA mk1a squadron to be delivered by HAL to IAF. So nothing new is being added apart from usual delays which is traits of ************** or nothing government employees..😡

Mod Edit: Please do not use casteist language

Don't divide the Patriotism with casteism.
Ur post doesn't look good to read.

ACM did say that the trainers should be delivered by 2023 feb-march. That is the 1st batch of trainers.

He is confident that by 2023 end all 18 will be delivered. If indeed that happens, that will be a job well done on part of HAL.

Egypt is going With T-50.......
@randomradio Did Tejas MK1A had a Shot?
IS T-50 Really that good W.R.T to Tejas MK1A?
Tejas is a proper multirole fighter jet capable to replace Mig21, 23 and 27 capabilities in a single platform.

T-50 is a supersonic Advanced Jet Trainer, trying to be a fighter jet. There's a difference between the two.

Both Malaysia and Egypt are looking to buy LIFT aircrafts. Malaysia will not buy T-50 to replace it's Mig29. No. It will buy them to replace its BAE Hawk attack version aircrafts.

And Egypt is not looking for a fighter jet either. Its looking for a replacement of K-8.

When a nation wants a fighter jet to replace Mig21/23/27 capability, we will have a very very decent chance.

But having said so. We should work to solve the canon issues and Air to Ground weapons and localisation of EW pod, HMDS , etc etc.

Some update I found about the status of aspj pod, though its prob known now (November 11 meeting)
