Kashmir : Counter Terror Operation Updates and Discussions

The war exercises happening at this massive scale is must every year. Yes it will cost but more than 50% of Indian military needs to wake up, they should be rugged for better performance in war. It is good that special forces have been deployed in Kashmir so that they get trained there for real battle with tougher enemy in future. The soldiers need to know the area before fighting.

The induction is still slow. There are instances where semi-armoured vehicles can be seen carrying troops on patrol.

They need everything but this is just an execuse that due to lack of armour vehicles the tangos escape or climate caused the death. The tangos are upgrading skills too. They will increase the caliber. Then the same people will blame it on leadership that there was no intel, and when intel is also there these people will blame it on ROEs, etc etc etc.

Just see the matrix how accurately the adversary is analysing every move and upgrading tactically to beat any deployment. What will they do if they intentionally take you to that area where the climate is harsh tough and tough topograph. You have to go there on foot and fight back. Or deploy air strike.

I see the matrix of how army is struggling to keep up.

US also faced similar tactics in both Afghanistan and Vietnam war.

Yet in the 20 years Afghanistan war.
approximately 2,456 U.S. military deaths and over 20,700 wounded.

analysis notes approximately 84,191 "rebels, including Taliban fighters" killed.

In Vietnam war US deaths were around 40k.

For veietnames casualties
as many as 2,000,000 civilians on both sides and some 1,100,000 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong fighters Died.

1million+ Vietnamese soldier deaths.

Then the same people will blame it on leadership that there was no intel, and when intel is also there these people will blame it on ROEs, etc etc etc.
An all those blames are fully valid.

The performance of army in kashmir lackluster at best.

Roughly same amount of soldiers killed as terrorists killed in recent years.

Even in battle of falujjah, where US forces had to literally clear a whole city in urban guerrilla warfare.

United States military casualties
Deaths: 106 (including 82 from coalition forces)
Wounded: 560-600 (including 560 from coalition forces)
Insurgent deaths: Approximately 1,200–1,600
Insurgent captured: Approximately 1,500

US casualty no. Is less than half the casualties on enemy guerilla fighters

In a major success against terror networks, J&K Police at Awantipora, along with security forces including the Indian Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 180 Battalion CRPF, busted a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) hideout in Naner Midoora, Pulwama district. They arrested terrorist associate Nazir Ahmed Ganai, a resident of Ganai Mohalla Nanar, who provided logistical support like arms transport to JeM operatives in Tral and Awantipora areas. The operation, based on specific intelligence, uncovered and destroyed the hideout in an orchard, recovering two hand grenades, one detonator, and explosive materials now under forensic examination; an FIR (257/2025) under UAPA and Explosives Act has been registered, with investigations ongoing.
