Israel, US Strike Iran After Weeks Of Warning, Explosions Heard In Tehran

New round of strikes that were conducted by the IsAF and USAF. Strikes seem clustered around certain specific cities. It seems that there are new sets of targets that are being designated as time passes. Most seem to be facilities related to industrial activity.

Payment flows through China’s Cross-Border Interbank Payment System — a yuan-denominated alternative to SWIFT — through barter arrangements in which Chinese companies build airports and refineries in Iran in exchange for oil via a network of front companies, which the US Treasury has tried for years to sanction with limited effect.

Since the war began, Iran has sent at least 11.7 million barrels of crude to China through the strait, according to TankerTrackers.com — every barrel outside the US dollar system moves freely, while Emirati, Kuwaiti, and Saudi tankers sit stranded. Iran has also floated the possibility of conditioning broader access to the strait on yuan settlement — a proposal that would formalize what is already happening in practice.

This infrastructure, stress-tested in wartime, seems unlikely to disappear after the fighting stops.

For leaders of global businesses, the question is not whether the petrodollar is dying. Instead, it’s whether the cost of operating exclusively within dollar-denominated systems is rising relative to the alternatives, and if it’s worth the price.

There's actually no difference between the two. We are still non-aligned. The main difference is our national power was bottom of the barrel during Nehru's time, whereas under Modi we are fighting to be the top dog. So other powers are responding to our current level of power.

Nehru's NAM was all about making friends everywhere, just like today, but the Americans were the my way or the highway types and pushed us off the road. Nehru was riding an overheated 50 cc moped, Modi is driving an 18-wheeler.

It's always been about national power.

It's not about nehru though. While Nehru adopted NAM rightfully accomodating times needs.. the future governments as far as 2010s.. kept following that idea of NAM.

That's where Multi-Alignment was a refresher and vastly different from what NAM has become. It's like the difference between passive and active.

Terrorists are people who beat women to death for not wearing a head scarf, kidnap civilians, cluster bomb cities and execute protestors.... and those who support them with inaccurate remarks.

Right. And what do you think these "armed whatever" will do once they get in power?
What happened to the militia US trained against Soviet under the banner of freedom?
What about your media always portraying terrorist as innocent when it concerns India & other nations.
How's the women rights, civilian rights and quality of life in Iraq, Syria, etc etc?

This situational nomenclature might work on unaware, kids or the too good to be true leftist. Not here.
This where you work?

🤣🤣🤣🤣 "Superman will kill us all" → "Iran will nuke us all". You stand exposed .

Was having a discussion on this issue on another forum a few months ago . It seems under Modi we haven't added much in terms of oil & gas fields to our kitty internationally or at all , whereas the Chinese especially were very busy in the same period amassing fields across Asia , Africa & Latin America.

Instead we've Puri boast about the find of the century in the Andaman Sea a few months ago which frankly sounded more like the Paxtani politicians & their familiar stock line especially in the past few years when their economy started tanking.

What exactly was the Modi government's strategy in this issue is unknown ? Did they neglect O&NG deliberately preferring to lay their entire emphasis on renewables ( EVs in automobiles which has since gone into the cold storage since China's near absolute monopoly in this sector became apparent or blending bio fuels with plans now to introduce E30 ) without considering how will we effect a transition in the forthcoming 2-3 decades ?

It looks to be so as the evidence at hand points to such an approach.

If India shifts to bio fuel and B-CNG, Dimethyl Ether Gas( can me made from Methanol) completely then no impact in future, very minor impact, this is preparedness.

You asked me about preparations @Subgradewalker here is more.
I think Indian scientists and engineers can prepare India for 100% bio fuel based economy in coming 15-20 years, only if lethargy is not there among the government installed secretaries and few brainless MPs in Indian Parliament who are not in pocket of crude oil mafia.

Dimethyl Ether (DME) Process Technology – An Ultra Clean Fuel

The wheel is said to be mankind’s greatest invention ever. Wheels convert energy derived from primary sources into usable forms of energy. Historically, fuel has played a vital role across civilizations because it is often the primary energy source. Today, different kinds of fuel are used in transport, cooking, electricity, machinery, and so on. But most of our sources of energy are not sustainable. The entire world depends on fossil fuels essentially to meet the requirements of energy. It includes gasoline, coal and petroleum, natural gas etc. Most of these fuels come from primary non-renewable sources, and their negative impacts in terms of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are of major concern. For green, and sustainable energy sources, we must shift to new and alternate eco-friendly energy sources.

Dimethyl ether (DME) is a promising fuel that is both sustainable and eco-friendly. DME is a synthetically produced alternative fuel that can be directly used in specially designed compression ignition diesel engines for various purposes. Under normal atmospheric conditions, DME is a colourless gas. It is used extensively in the chemical industry and as an aerosol propellant, solvent, fuel, and refrigerant. DME exhibits comparable calorific value and similarity of its thermal efficiency to traditional fuels; It is a clean-burning fuel with low emission and low particulate matter.

Most importantly, it has already been used as an ozone-friendly aerosol propellant to replace ozone-destroying chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Therefore, it can also be used as a refrigerant. Also, it is an essential intermediate for producing valuable chemicals such as lower olefins, dimethyl sulfate, and methyl acetate, which can help to boost the economy of the nation.

DME is expected to contribute very significantly to Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme in reducing LPG imports. Clean burning increases fuel efficiency and minimize particulate matter and NOx/Sox pollution. Hence, blending DME with LPG is expected to decrease the pollution level and improve people's health. Smaller productions units of DME can be accommodated in ships and diesel engines/gensets. DME can be used for the entire energy requirements of ships and submarines and would contribute to the Sagarmala programme being an environmentally benign fuel.

CSIR-NCL, in association with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), has tested DME in automobiles by blending it with LPG, and various runs have been carried out on an auto-rickshaw in which a blend of DME and LPG was used as a fuel. This blended fuel has an efficient compression ignition. It has comparatively less NOx, no soot, Sox, and particulate matter when the tests were carried out by ARAI, a leading automotive research institute in Pune.

It's a precursor for ground-ops. Looking like Iran is going to get completely screwed/dismantled/defanged this time around by Uncle Sam.

The Israelis have led Trump into a trap that will be difficult for him to extricate himself from. Between the IRCG, paramilitary Basij and the Army, Iran has a decentralized ORBAT/military hierarchy.

They can hold out for months using underground supply lines, not unlike those used in Gaza. Plus, there are concerns, the US is quickly depleting weapons stocks reserved for other theaters like Taiwan.

The US reputation for quick, clean military ops is in tatters and a ground invasion will only make it worse.
If Hormuz continues to remain bottlenecked, the consequences will be felt by the world economy.

Iranian air defenses, presumably Majid, hit a US MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance UAV and a presumably RQ-21 UAV near the city of Shiraz in Fars province.
