Israel, US Strike Iran After Weeks Of Warning, Explosions Heard In Tehran

So that's at least 1 x E-3 Sentry confirmed destroyed in the most recent attack on Prince Sultan AB (the 2nd attack on this base so far). Credible reports say at least 1 x KC-135 tanker was also destroyed in this 2nd attack, along with damage to many more aircraft.

American air defence continues to take the L. Losing important force-multiplier assets to cheap drones & missiles is NOT sustainable in a long war.

I thought the Russians' losing a chunk of their strategic bomber fleet to an attack by cheap Ukrainian drones was a unique failure. It turns out the Americans are just as vulnerable to losing high-value assets, if not more. The attack on Prince Sultan is way less imaginative & surprising than the one on the 4 Russian bases. At least the Russians can claim the attacks were from an unexpected direction and some were on bases that weren't anywhere near Ukraine.

There's lessons in here for us as well. I hope the IAF is watching.

I like the way GOI is managing this whole affair. Despite all kinds of attempt to build pressure and make them falter... GOI has decided on a path adhering to multi-alignment and sticking to it.

I suppose that's the difference between Non-Alignment and Multi-alignment.
In Non-Alignment, both party may chastise you for sitting it out but that's the extent of it. You become a bystander.

In Multi-alignment, both warring parties treat you carefully too.. while they accuse you of supporting the other side through "free media and narratives", they also thank you for showing support for their concerns officially. But it does, however little, gives gives you a skin in the game and a seat at the table ( observer status) .😂

There's actually no difference between the two. We are still non-aligned. The main difference is our national power was bottom of the barrel during Nehru's time, whereas under Modi we are fighting to be the top dog. So other powers are responding to our current level of power.

Nehru's NAM was all about making friends everywhere, just like today, but the Americans were the my way or the highway types and pushed us off the road. Nehru was riding an overheated 50 cc moped, Modi is driving an 18-wheeler.

It's always been about national power.

Bruh there is no way UK military is giving their pilots ACE status for shooting down drones

The CEOs of the world’s most influential oil and gas companies delivered a sobering message this week about the impact of the Iran war on energy supplies and the long-term consequences for the global economy.

The executives gathered in Houston, Texas, for S&P Global’s annual CERAWeek energy conference to take stock of the war. They warned that the market is not reflecting the scale of the disruption to oil and gas supplies.

Asia and Europe will face fuel shortages if the war drags on, the executives said. Oil prices are likely to remain high even if the conflict ends as countries restock depleted reserves, they said.

“You just can’t take 8 to 10 million barrels a day of oil and 20 or so percent of the [liquefied natural gas] market off the world stage without having some significant repercussions,” ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance told CERAWeek attendees.

Iran has basically imposed an economic blockade against the oil producers in the Middle East by closing the Strait of Hormuz, said Sheikh Nawaf al-Sabah, the CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. The Strait is the vital artery that connects the Gulf Arab producers’ oil exports to global markets.

“This is an attack not only against the Gulf, but it is an attack that is holding the world’s economy hostage,” al-Sabah told conference. The CEO warned that the war will have a “domino effect” across the global economy.

“The costs of this war don’t stay within geographical lines in this region,” al-Sabah said. “They extend all the way through supply chain.”

The oil shock is the worst since the Arab oil embargo against the U.S. and other Western nations over their support for Israel in 1973 Mideast war, said Paul Sankey, an independent analyst at Sankey Research.

Thailand has made a deal with Iran to allow the country’s oil vessels to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz, Thai prime minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Saturday.

“An agreement has been reached to allow Thai oil tankers to transit safely through the Strait of Hormuz,” Mr Charnvirakul said at a press conference.

The Thai prime minister added that the development would alleviate concerns over fuel imports.

On Friday, Mr Charnvirakul apologised to the public over fuel price volatility, admitting that his newly formed government had misjudged the situation in the Middle East.

He urged the public not to panic, saying domestic fuel supplies remained sufficient.

Now, with the latest agreement in place, the Thai prime minister said “there is greater confidence that disruptions like those seen in early March will not recur,” adding that his government would “continue to adapt to evolving situations”.
