The protests following imran Khan shooting incident were too small. Seems like peoples are too afraid to come out. Even a regional political party in India could bring hundreds of thousands peoples to street for much smaller issues.
At this point, Imran Khan is checkmated. If he say something against army, they will charge him with terrorism and disqualify. If he didn't, ISI will go after low level PTI workers one by one and weaken the party. Low level leaders won't be able to resist the pressure and they may even defect to other parties.
Imran Khan had only himself to blame for this situation. Few years ago, when ISI was going after PMLN low level leaders, PTI was cheering for ISI and boasting about how PMLN leaders got "Attitude adjustment". Now PTI low level leaders are gonna get the same "attitude adjustment".
IK has a different type of following. The fairly educated middle class .
His followers are not rioters and avoid making trouble. This is a good thing and a bad thing.
Good because unlike when Benazir Bhutto was assassinated, and the while country was set on fire by her followers, IK brings no such calamity.
Bad because the lacklustre protest didn't put the government or establishment under any pressure.
IK did make some mistakes while dealing with Army and ISI.
For the first time in the history of Pakistan the PM interviewed ISI cheif before his appointment. This never happens and there was no need to do that.
ISI took offence and we know what happened next and still happening.
