Indian Political Discussion

So, as per CENTCOM these ships are warned repeatedly before they are engaged. They have their locations switched off. As per them they are carrying sanctioned cargo/breaching the blockade and did not pay heed to their warning. A milder kinetic response could have been used and lives would not have been lost. Saddening. MEA has limited options from what I have read so far. Cannot comment on other aspects w/o understanding the exact sequence of events.
The UAE based company has disputed the statement put out by CENTCOM.

Let's see how things proceed.

A proposal that could reshape the future of Indian sport has reached the highest levels of government.

Khel Now can exclusively reveal that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has submitted a proposal to the Government of India seeking consideration of a Sports Passport framework that would allow eligible Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) athletes to represent India in international sport.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the proposal is being examined as part of a broader effort to improve India’s competitiveness across global sports, particularly in disciplines such as football, basketball and tennis, where several countries have successfully used sports naturalisation pathways to strengthen their national teams. The matter was recently discussed during the meeting between the Sports Minister, ISL clubs, and AIFF officials.

“Sports Ministry has sent a detailed proposal to the Government of India to consider a Sports Passport framework to boost India’s performance in global sports such as football, basketball and tennis. It is likely to take six to eight months before the Government of India makes a decision on the subject,” a source close to the developments told Khel Now.

The development comes at a time when India is preparing its bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games and faces increasing pressure to improve performances across major international competitions.

Pitfalls of a sold out media. There was no news about the dead sailors on the front pages of Indian channels - TOI, NDTV. Until around 8 pm when Trump lied on his truth social account. Then everyone started posting the news.

No one is gong to question what steps will Modi take to bring justice to the 3 sailors killed in US attack. Modi is a pus.sy, wont utter a word against Trump.

Sab naacho - Modi ji ka gift hai to the people of India. :ROFLMAO:

Atleast during the Enrica Lexie case in 2012, national media had the balls to question the ruling elites. Now everyone has been neutered. Now Indian news channels are actually closer to GlobalTimes & paxtani news channels. They sell the artifical narrative that GoI wants Indian citizens to see.

If Modi has balls, then file a FIR against CENTCOM commander for murder. Ofcourse he wont bother replying. Then declare him fugitive & announce a bounty on his head. Get an Interpol notice issued against him. Use the established international law to make his life worse.

That is the real fault line in India’s industrial strategy. Delhi still spends too much time choosing sectors and too little time obsessing over the plumbing underneath them: skills, supplier networks, logistics, research capacity, technical education and institutional competence. Factories grab headlines. Capabilities quietly decide whether those factories survive.

I was looking through my bookmarks. And I re-read this survey findings. I always wonder why do most Indians support almost every form of government? Like why?

This isn't universally true. Depends on the sector. Look at Solar the government's policy covers almost everything. They have taken a very pragmatic approach when it comes scaling up solar power...Also it depends on the players involved in the sector not just the government. Government can make policies, incentives, etc. but at the end whether those policies are effective at ground at every level depends on all the stakeholders involved. Even in solar everything exists at policy level but execution at ground level takes a lot of time due to the capital intensive nature of the sector.. companies have to invest a lot of upfront capital before they see result. So, the whole process happens in phase by phase manner.

I would encourage you to read the ECMS policy of government. You would realise how wrong this article is about that policy. The government has been working to attract semiconductor investment since ages like going as far as back 2017. They have tried fixing a lot of bottlenecks that made investors shy away from us in the past in this sector. Government didn't just woke up one day and decided to invite people to invest in Semiconductor sector of India, they worked day & night for years fixing the gaps to make favourable for India to be able to attract those investments. Ofc, the work isn't done, there is a lot more has to be done. Even ECMS isn't a perfect policy, it has a lot problems. But, it addresses a lot of those areas.

Geopolitical realities have started hitting GoI. The wiggle room for any kind of protest is negligible. As you stated, we have no leverage.
yup, thats the whole problem. Monkeys in south block put all their bets with US and now we are paying for that.

Problem is that our entire bureaucratic and political system is severely compromised by foreign powers. To add to that our ability execute or develop stuff on our own is very limited. We dont even have the discipline or seriousness over our own internal security , we are letting the foreigners train NE militants without any fear.

India does have options to rile US like sending some food or fuel aid to cuba but it requires some political will power. We need consistent & strategic long term vision , not one off circus like operation against pakistan.

Even basic "echo" based accounts that amplify tags and content are not being monitored in India. There are several accounts that do not post original content but function on copying posts. Some are verified and tend to earn from these posts. GoI, unfortunately, is lacking in many aspects when it comes to IW and correlated SM based misinformation campaigns. The lack of monitoring is both vexing and disappointing. There are OSINT accounts that have to tag these accounts and wait (for long durations) to get them investigated and banned. Indian traffic on SM accounts for a sufficient chunk and has helped many SM apps grow. However, the IB ministry continues to find itself on the backfoot when it comes to setting up a systemic check and balance procedure.
Unlike china or pakistan who have structured , organized and long term goal of putting India down , we literally have none. For current govt winning local elections is of higher priority than national matters. As long as the politicians have the power and they are not affected they dont care to give a hoot about what happens to their fellow country men.

chinese, pakistan & west have been astroturfing attacks against India for pretty long time but what is shocking is that govt has taken literally zero action until now. US ambassador should have been given a good dressing down for the racist attacks against Indians but we seen nothing other than MEA spokesperson giving toothless statements.

BJP is congress + saffron , they are even more corrupt and terribly compromised by foreign powers. There is literally nothing much Modi can do , he is surrounded by ministers whose wards have foreign citizenship and bureacracy working for foreign powers.

Observing that the legal profession risks a “brain drain” if financially struggling young lawyers are compelled to abandon litigation for careers offering greater financial stability, the Supreme Court on Friday (June 19, 2026) directed the creation of a “Young Lawyers’ Professional Assistance Fund” in every State and Union Territory.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice V. Mohana noted that the initial years of legal practice often impose severe financial hardships, particularly on first-generation lawyers and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. It pointed out that many promising young advocates are forced to leave the profession in order to continue supporting their families as “primary breadwinners”.

“A young first-generation lawyer entering the Bar does not immediately inherit an office, a library, a stable clientele, or a predictable source of income. During this formative period, many junior advocates remain dependent upon modest stipends paid by their seniors or, in some places, by local Bar Associations, which are often insufficient to meet even their basic living expenses,” the Bench said, adding that the absence of a steady stream of clients and the limited remuneration available during the early years of practice often result in acute financial hardship.

The top court passed the directions while hearing a petition filed by a group of six women lawyers seeking improved infrastructure and welfare measures for members of the Bar across the country. Appearing for the petitioners, senior advocate Monika Gusain submitted that young lawyers face several “systemic barriers and roadblocks” during the initial years of practice, including the absence of a fixed stipend to help them cope with financial uncertainty.

To address these concerns, the apex court called for the creation of a fund to be placed under the control of the jurisdictional High Courts or an autonomous body constituted by the Union and State governments.

Ladla Wakil Yojana. Unfortunately for the young lawyers unlike the govt programme where despite corruption a large chunk of the money still gets the beneficiaries. This one would be privately managed by the courts. Thus, there will be too much corruption and the benefits might not even be given to the real beneficiaries. Our judiciary is more corrupt and intransparent than political system.

Our judicial system is so bad. It scares away good chunk of foreign investments on its own. Folks literally say they don't want to invest in India in front of MEA officials because they don't want to go through our judicial process when they are in a legal trouble.

Another media outlet that put out a clarification. They are all free to pick topics for their columns as they desire. However, the timing and the rush to push these out is worrisome. The writer and the media outlet seem to have an affinity for certain issues and narratives.
