Indian Political Discussion

Same bloodline as whom ? The Persians or Zoroastrians ? This is news to me . All the while I was under the impression , the Ghanznavids , Ghorids , Khiljis , Tughlaqs , Mughals ,etc were Turco Afghans & in case of the Mughals Turco -Mongols . In fact even Nadir Shah was a Turk . Where do you get your history from ?

P.S- Tarring everyone with the same brush isn't a healthy habit.Not everyone who supports the BJP is a sanghi or a B h a k t. Just f.y.I.

I guess he must have drawn the conclusion based on the use of Persian language in the Mughal court.

Even Marathi has vaste influence of Persian. Shivaji even spoke persian. (little known fact)

But this came much later and it happened only because they wanted foreign scholars in the court to balance the vaste Hindu scholars and the only place they could find them was Persia. Before that, the langue of the Mughal court was Turkish.

CONgress vote share increased and that is only because people wanted to punish Modi / BJP in Gujarat. Otherwise why would anyone vote for CONgress. (unless they are "minority")
Actually what I heard from my friends is people are not against Modi, but they are angry with local BJP leaders. Plus Rupani is no match for Modi and he just could not carry forward the way Modi used to function. Another big factor was the cast Cowboys, particularly Alpesh Thakore. In spite of all these factors, BJP vote share did go up compared to 2012. Congress gained at the expense of other parties. BTW Rahul Gandhi's temple run did pay off. He went to some 12 odd temples. Except one, Congress won all other seats. No wonder he is doing the same in Karnataka.

Not if you know sanskrit and know how to pronounce sanskrit.

If you really love all Indians as your brothers (including the so-called rice-bag converts you have a special affection for), then you ARE a secular Indian.

No middle path or shades of grey there.

Especially not after it became clear to the country what Hindutva really meant, post Modi coming to power.

Cheers, Doc

Rahul Gandhi is a Hindu.

Why should it surprise you that he goes to temples?

His grandmother though was famously prevented from entering the Jagannath temple in Odisha.

You are right. Currently Modi might be loosing perception war. But if you go through last 4 years, the same thing happened after Delhi elections and repeated again during Bihar election. But look how he changed the perception of "Suit boot Ki sarkar" and won Assam, UP, Uttarakhand!! They will definitely loose some seats compared to 2014. But it's still one year away and a lot can happen during this period. Indian's memory is short lived and they forget both good and bad!!

I don't agree with the comparison you've made about Bihar-Delhi Election loss and BJP winning Assam, UK & UP.

Opposition has been successful in conveying the message to masses - No Jobs for Youth Under MODI Government, No Crub on Terrorism, No Action Against Corruption - People believe that MODI Govt. supported Mallaya, Nirva MODI, No Ram Mandir, No action against Article 370, No action to throw out Illegal Rohingayas from Jammu, Arun JaiItaly's Finance Ministery's Blunder's etc. going to cost BJP in 2019.

PS: My entire family is not going to vote for BJP. We won't Vote against it, but neither for it. BJP MP elected by us is incompetent & has done Zilch to fulfill the Promises she made specific to our Locality.

Edit: My MP Personally knows me, as I used to do Door to Door Campaign with her in 2014. When I approached her to get our Locality issues resolved, she gave Lollipop during Personal Visit.

Hope for BJP in Karnataka then?
I don't think so . BSY just hasn't been able to project himself and the BJP as a viable alternative . I haven't been following Karnataka politics closely but I'd say the Congress would be back with a slender majority or would be the largest party . That's what I'm getting to hear from my friends there .

Since my father was with state government and a hardcore Congress supporter, I spent quite a bit of time in political circle since my childhood. Frankly speaking I have not seen any MP, irrespective of their party, have done anything whatsoever for their constituencies. So my expectation from them is absolutely minimal and limited to support the party in Parliament. For local issues, I would rather approach the local MLA. As far as central government is concerned, as a common man I expect good infrastructure, economic reforms, strong defence and assertive but pragmatic foreign policy. Given the constraints, I would say Modi has done a very good job. Could he have done a better job? May be, may be not. So how do I judge him? I prefer to compare sector by sector backed by actual data.
In your case you are unhappy with your local MP and may be your anger is justified. But by not voting BJP, will your problem be solved? Most likely no. But by not voting BJP you are actually helping a retard like Rahul Gandhi to become PM. Imgine what will be India's condition if that gentleman becomes PM!! Sometimes looking at the bigger picture helps.

Where exactly I mentioned my surprise?

It's a different issue that after election he didn't feel like going back to any of those temples though.

Just wait for Rajhasthan elections. Middle class will Punish MODI & INC will form Government. This going to have ramifications on 2019 elections.
Madam , Rajasthan has traditionally been a swing state . That's already a lost cause .I'm also expecting MP & CG to go Congress way provided they curb their in fighting .

LOL ..... I don't need your certificate.

Just because one of my brother becomes a rapist or a convict, it does not mean he stops being my brother. It just means I need to be more careful in dealing with him.

Rice bag converts represents a clear and present danger to India today. That is why I make it a point to raise awareness about them. It has nothing to do with my love or hate for them. Such "emotions" are meaningless and worthless.

Just because a dog gets rabies and goes mad, does it mean I need to hate him ? I just need to take care of it so that the rest of my family members do not get infected.

Its as simple as that.

He's the first Janeu dhari who's half Italian , one fourth Kashmiri Pandit & one fourth Parsi with no one including himself of any memory of when the thread ceremony was conducted . Usko sab maaf hain.

What makes you say this with so much authority ? There is NO EVIDENCE of him ever entering any temple before elections or celebrating ANY HINDU festival.

Its pretty obvious is he not a Hindu. Either culturally or spiritually. This for the simple reason that there was nobody in his family to either teach him Hinduism or even introduce him to Hinduism. Not his father (who anyway died when he was young) and certainly not his mother.

Quite possible.

Last I heard, they were chanting, मोदी तुझ से बैर नहीं, वसुंधरा तेरी खैर नहीं
