Hope we develop similar ecosystem for GaN semiconductor like West has developed for GaAs chips. Look how US is effing China by banning semi-conductor chip exports. We can't afford that, IMO.

Regarding Astra MW development of uttam radar for LCA mk1a

This is great news. Maybe for AMCA MK2(also maybe for our future MBTs). DAS would allow 360° detection and tracking of all threats and should work as MAWS++.
Its MAWS with bigger scope. From F-35 started calling it DAS.

MAWS just tells you general direction of incoming missile, DAS is distributed imaging Infrared sensors(in MWIR) that not just detect missile launches but create 360° situational awareness bubble and even track sneaking planes from all aspects. This allows in principal to launch missile 180° off the nose(6 O'clock) of the plane. Currently ONLY F-35 has this system(maybe J-20 too!).
