Is someone else stepping in this place? I doubt that. The fact that he and his family has set up a low cost vaccine capability is more than admirable.

Beside then you will be thankful to that someone. Because someone needs to do it. Certainly you are not doing it for yourself because you cann't.

of course they will. He's making the vaccine because Modi allowed him to and gave him the license. If Modi had asked other friends like Ambani and Adani, they would have opened their treasure chest started making vaccine too.

No dear. His company, SII, existed long before Modi came to power. And no, Modi did not give him license to manufacture. Manufacturing does not work this way. His license to manufacturing comes from his dealing with AstraZenica and Oxford. Goverment did not exactly facilitate it.

BTW, it takes a long time before you can set up a vaccine plant. Ask likes of UK and Canada. In the middle of pandemic they all are scrambling to set up production. Canada has spent in billions to do that but the facilities are not going to be ready before 2023. And they have population much much much smaller than what we do.

Had India not having SII, you would be at the end of line for procuring vaccines. Ask Pakistan why their vaccine rate is so small. Ask Australia why they were not able to roll out vaccines ealier than India and are still behind in ratio of population vaccinated. Ask Japan why their vaccination rate is abysmal. All of these countries cannot manufacture vaccines in their countries in sufficient number because they don't have giants like SII.

Its not a matter of money. Even if Indian government is ready to spend 10s of billions, without SII they will be hard pressed to manufacture vaccines in big numbers in short period of time.

Bisht can’t expand the health infrastructure
Bisht knows a thing or two about oxygen shortage a long time before covid struck. UP does need a strong leader for dealing with day to day UP politics, but when s*** hits the ceiling they are all bloody useless. People are dying on the streets and he goes online to say there's no shortage of medical supplies. UP+Bihar with 300 million will slowly but surely destroy this nation.

Its not that simple. This mess goes beyond UP etc etc. Maharashtra has been a bigger shit show. So is Delhi. So is TN. Every fukken where. And lets not even get started about WB. Its a shit show every single place. The bigger problem with India is rather simple (yet insidious)... its one word. Scale.

Democracy or the way it is practiced in India is not scaling and is not up to the task. Westminister democratic system is not working out for us. It never has.

Lie, truth none of that matters here. The problem is NOT going to get solved by either. Heck, even lie and truth is not going to save/punish BJP. It never does.

Why? Are these politicians influencing all these nations to give orders or what?

of course they will. He's making the vaccine because Modi allowed him to and gave him the license. If Modi had asked other friends like Ambani and Adani, they would have opened their treasure chest started making vaccine too.
Hey, new wiseass in town. Its not possible to manufacture vaccines like that. Its not an electronics item or plastic toy. Why do you think wealthy nations in EU are suffering from shortage even after giving orders as back as Aug 2020? Because they couldn't scale up the production as expected.

Attack every businessman as if its your birthright. They don't owe you anything. Thank the gods that we have the biggest manufacturer.

Histidine is a pH regulator. For recombinant non-replicating virus based vaccines, a pH regulator is needed to ensure enough virus is alive when it is injected for immune system to react.

Regulating pH is not a sure sign that you have adjuvant.
PLease refer to this patent

It clearly indicates that this is stabilizer (by maintaining pH of solvent other wise attenuated virus will be destroyed) and improves adjuvant absorption.

The second link mentioned use of Aluminum hydroxide gel as adjuvant, but one thing puzzles me, Aluminum hydroxie gel is readily available in India, we had used it during experiments while in our graduation. Its mostly used as oral antacid..

Injectable plant gets years of setup and qualification. Not to forget, inspection and grant of license by DCGI. Doesn't matter if you have money, its the setup that's what matters the most.

SII and Bharat biotech are Giants in world for Vaccine manufacturing.. Hands down.. US wanted to arm-twist India with restricting supply of critical Raw materials and single use reaction polybags. That's where we fall short.. USA is a 8itch that ditches each of her allies as per their convenience.

As far as generic medicine used in USA, 30 to 35 % of total volume is supplied from India from Giants like Cipla, Sun, Glenmark, Alkem (my organization), Zydus, Dr. Reddy's, Aurobindo, Ajanta, MSN, Divi's, Mylan (its mfg site is in India) and many more including Mankind, USV and Jubilant.

And yet Americans started 8itchng..
Meanwhile, once DRL starts producing Sputnik which is most potent vaccine, its single shot will be enough..

Sputnik has 2 dose regime and both doses are different from each other and second dose needs to be administered 21 days after the first dose...

Only Jonson and Jonson and Covaxin Nasal are single dose Vaccines. Rest all are 2 dose Vaccines...

They are giants because modi had foresight to give them advance money and orders.

From your own link : Patent is held by GSK. I doubt they are involved in covishield development. It does not say it is NECESSARILY the ONLY use of Histidine. Histidine is an essential amino acid and has been in use for quite sometime now as a pH modulator.

As far as second link goes, it has too many errors. It calls the modified virus particles as "inactivated". Which is weird. There is nothing to inactivate in them. Those virus particles do not replicate.
Here is a picture of ingredients from a box of covishield vaccines.
1620234441274.png

Ingredients :

Adeno virus particle (expressing COVID-19 spike protein) 5x10^10 virus particles.
Excipients: L-Histidine, L-Histidine HCL, Sucrose, Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride MgCl2.xH2O, Polysorbate 80, EDTA (Edetate Disodium), Ethanol, Water for Injections.

Aluminium based adjuvant is not there.

Update:

Actually, I found a better source :

This is the product insert in the box itself. From the manufacturer. Take a look at section 6.1.

Hardly. Their growth was tremendous after Modi came.
I will agree with the technological advances on all fronts after Modi came to power. My cellphone has twice the computing power as my 2012 laptop and the DSLR is as good as obsolete, all this within 7-8 years.

Its less of an active effort to screw us and more of "America First MoFoz" attitude. Its not just America, it is EU as well.

I am not certain how DRL will help because Sputnik will still need those supplies. It will still need a culture media to grow the virus, it will still need filters and it will still need bio reactors and bags lower the chance of contamination.

These items were NOT very specific to AZ vaccine.

So Regen-Cov is coming to India. Would have saved many lives of people I knew who could have afforded it comfortably before being dead. But then, Socialism won't permit upper middle class to afford medication and live while poor who couldn't, dies.

Leaving aside technicalities of permissible to use, Is it fair? Why are we earning money if we are stopped from procuring expensive life saving drugs just because many cannot afford it?

Even if drug would have been approved but costs like USD 200, would GoI allow it?
