Brexit and Future of UK : Discussions

German army is equipped. It's just a lack of support and maintenance.
It's faster to increase support than to wait years to receive hardware.
Most of the equipment is so under-maintained it's effectively mothballed.

Facts are that 4 of the 5 rafale accidents occur on Marine model.
So Rafale "air" lost only 1 plane, on pilot (single...) error.
But for reasons that are nothing to do with carrier operations. My point is that you can't blow your trumpet about theoretical sinking a US carrier in a training exercise when your planes fall from the sky by themselves during peacetime.

Perhaps if the HMI was designed better the pilots would have a lower workload, this was a factor observed during the Swiss eval.

No sea Rafale = no need of undergoing test of new weapons dedicated to carrier = 2 loss.
No sea Rafale = no refueling with a dedicated config for landing on carrier with low fuel = 1 loss.
No sea Rafale = probably no dog fight low over the sea (but just probably).

After that if you doubt of the fact a sea plane has a far more accident loss, You're wasting your breath.

During peacetime last version of Nimrod even don't quit the factory... You can thank french Atlantic 2 to watch for russian SSN when your deterrence subs quit or return from mission...

be precise : where in the swiss eval ?
Rafale was 1st in quite all aspects, including the supposed strengh of the EF.

None of the accidents were anything to do with carrier operations. You're just strawmanning.

We have 7 SSNs for that. And SSBNs are the deterrence subs.

Yes but not pilot workload where the Typhoon scored full marks. Maybe overworked pilots crashed.

Germany is under USA occupation. USSR left Germany after 1989 but USA stayed on even after that till today.

Merkel is trying to get rid of USA by allying with Arabs by getting "refugees" into Germany and hence gain support against USA occupation towards independence. Until Germany is under USA occupation, there is no hopes of any military development.

It's not really under occupation, the bases are a legacy of the cold war but with a resurgent Russia and a weak EU, they arguably still have a role.

You're wrong. End of the discussion on this point.

7 SSN? Nice. They are so effective that Atlantic 2 (and probably Orion) came to assist RN.... They are so effective that GB ordered P8 poseidon....

You're wrong on the two points.
occupation ? so it's the case of Japan, S korea, a lot of european country, Qatar, Saudi arabia, GB, Italy..... First time I read that USA rules the world.

Japan, Taiwan and South Korea are indeed under occupation. It is no joke. That is also the reason why USA has special rules regarding ToT for semiconductor technology to these countries. It is not by magic that Taiwan, Korea etc have 14nm lithography while the bigger countries like China has 28nm only. Japan is also listed as an enemy state in UN charter till date.

In case of Arab countries, USA is based on accords for mutual interests. USA does favours around the world to spread islam and ensure dominance of GCC countries in Islam in return for petrodollars. The Afghanistan war, Albania creation etc are all a result of this alliance. So, the bases in GCC countries are based on consent of the rulers there.

The difference between USA in GCC countries and other countries is that the constitution of GCC countries is made by the people/ruler themselves whereas constitution of Germany, Japan, Taiwan, S.Korea were all made by USA influence and military dominance,

A mid-air collision and IFR has nothing to do with what platform you take off from.

We always help each other. The UK helped France with logistics in Mali. No one will deny that the MRA4 was a screw-up but that's what happens when government defence procurers who know nothing about engineering decide on options and choose to re-use a 50 year-old fuselage. What they actually tried doing was vastly harder than building a brand new aircraft.

It's a WW2 history.....
Now, I hope Wehrmacht understood of its error.
Not sure the relevance of WWII, but there are probably more Spitfires, Hurricanes and gen 1 Typhoons that are combat ready than there are Luftwaffe fighters.

There are no US bases in Taiwan as of 1974. Yes the US share technology with allies but that's not to say China doesn't still copy a lot... an awful lot... hence why it's currently being shat on with tariffs.

The Afghanistan War was a result of 9/11. Everything was very peaceful until that happened. Al-Quaeda and 9/11 were a result of imposing sanctions on Iraq instead of removing Hussein in 1991 and not investing in Afghanistan enough after the Soviets left.

Germany, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea are democracies who determine their own constitution, whereas China and North Korea are legacy totalitarian Communist regimes leftover from the cold war, where a stuffed magpie gets to decide everything for everyone and anyone who disagrees gets killed/tortured/raped/re-educated/forced labour/all of the above. Were Germany, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea people encouraged by the Western economic model? Well yes, and the high GDP/Capita ratios explain why.

Therese May is now going to lend money to the Africans to do business with the UK - hoping to fill the void left with the potential of no deal with Europe. Wonder if this dance will encourage new business venture..... ;)
