If by "this" you mean the engine that can be used to power the whole tejas fleet in the future and replace F 404 engine then it is possible but there are some caveats:
1) The GoI will have to continuously invest in the program and by that I mean the sanctioning the money in time.

2) Some facilities will have to be built with the JV partners like FTB, etc.

The GTRE director has said that they are trying to increase the thrust to 86 kN and make the T/W to 8:1. There might be the interview on this thread where he said that.

The JV engine was always aimed at 110kn class meaning it would be sub 110kn wet thrust capable possibly ~ 105kn level. This unintentional misquoting is root of many future debates and finger pointing. Officially jv engine target was to make engine with Ip rights for 110kn class, and if Snecma is chosen then the engine is definitely not going much beyond 100kn thrust at all no matter how much money spent.

I think many can smell some of the future scandals to break cover with this engine jv issue should it go ahead. Its all good with the social media trending and all feel good factors for a day or 2 , but it changes almost nothing. I personally got a different opinion to how people are jumping on this media movement bandwagon where as actual positive steps would come elsewhere.

It is underway trials technically, the engine will be put on the FTB in September though (for now). The same person reported this as well btw. The interesting thing to note from the two pieces is : "25 hours of testing left" and paraphrasing "some changes were made in the engine". I can't draw the conclusions because I lack the technical knowledge.

the trend didnt work at all, we need a mass level dharna at jantar mantar and parliament, kaveri is our need, it should have been tested last year only, rn the full brahmos afterburner integrated kde should have been tested

truly bhagwan bharose, squadron numbers are depleting, mk1a is already delayed due to uncle sam

none of our "strategic partners" are trustable, i guarantee they have sabotaged and delayed amca to 2029 end aka 2030 rollout so that a big fat import of either f35 or su57 happens and all our indigenous efforts goes down the drain,

Clown kadi ninda, doesnt fund drdo and its labs and does only photo ops, and then they expect that the country would become atmanirbhar

navy has the capability to design much more modern warships, but can our shipyards make it within 2-3 years just like east asian shipyards like japan, korea and china?

It is not on offer. It was news taken out of context from PIB, then reported by (a infamous site news handle), and later picked up by some major RW handles. There is no offer. AndI doubt Japan of all the countries in the world is any keen on ToT, considering their policies towards defence exports etc.

I don't think it's a fake report or anything, I believe it for now, but you know our decisions are rarely consistent.

Someone also told me there's an Su30 being converted into a flying testbed, not just for the Kaveri, but also for the future 120 kN-class engine.

There was also a MiG-29 proposed before this, so I'll take it with a pinch of salt and celebrate only when it actually happens
