Do we have that kind of space? I expect some VL SRSAM modules to be strapped on P15 and P17s once they are accepted. But ULVMs would be difficult.IMO, IN won't put additional UVLM on the capital ships instead the present arrangement will share the Brahmos and LRLACM together.
Omg, it doesn't have tercom too. I was thinking that it only lacks Magnetic contour maping ability. In the program the ex DRDO scientist said this LACM version got typical standard INS system, as opposed to TERCOM of any air launched cruise system. That made sense to me , given the range of 1000km+ and launched from ground you can use INS based navigation system with waypoint more accurately , compared to power consuming active tercom mode. The air launched version can use terrain matching system when ready, which is in development phase. Perhaps the future generation system will have it. Most of these systems are GOST standardized products we make.
Iam starting to realize even Navy doesn't know what its doing sometimes. Even Tier-2 Nations have fielded VLS and these chaps are still playing cat and mouse game with DRDO. Why does everything needs to be reinvented everytime DRDO does something? We desperately a desi Mk41/Sylver style UVLS. Too much space being left unutilized on DDG/FFG class ships currently.
Reportedly, the IN has asked for a redesign of the VLS for VLSRSAM on weight grounds.
That should give us an idea of how close we are to fielding a true-blue UVLS.
Try making a successful VLS system all by yourself once.Iam starting to realize even Navy doesn't know what its doing sometimes. My gut instinct telling me that this is just prequel that clueless Navy gonna play Cat and Mouse game with DRDO in regarding VLS that we gonna squander our opportunity even with Project-18 and field a half assed ship humiliating ourself, first they will ask for VLS of X inches then they realize they don't have any Missiles other than VL-SRSAM to launch from it and then they will be back to square one.
Failures are stepping stones for susaxTo those who stll believing Nirbhay is successful & is deployed secretly by forces.
Yeas definitely, but you should call apade a spade.Failures are stepping stones for susax

The DAC approved LR-LACM project is progressing well with two DcPP partners onboard viz. BDL & BEL (Godrej)
First flight of LR-LACM-01 was conducted on 12th Nov 2024 from ITR, Chandipur. Rep. Tri-services witnessed the launch.
Pontoon Launch of SL03 Mission completed on 08th Feb 2024 and SL04 pontoon launch on 26th April 2024.
Imo, we need air launched version, specifically air launched nuclear version. Air deterent with gravity bombs wont cut it anymore.
what the heck is this obsession with stealth shaping ? this goes for a distance of 1000km with min 10m altitude, will cruise easily at 0.7 mach in a 200-500m altitude which is damn low + have good ram coating likely. That is enough for stealth. The flight envelope itself indicate it will have both terrain contour mapping , radar altimeter & a good low observable feature is built in.Future blocks of this cruise missile must have a stealth optimized design with low observable shaping, radar absorbent materials, and fin configuration to significantly reduce radar cross section while preserving range, payload, and reliability , making sure it remains effective against modern integrated air defense systems in contested environments......at the same time we must target no fewer than 10,000 units at minimum.
