Chinese Wuhan Virus Thread

I'm hoping that's a rumour. It's what they are saying now about repeat infections.

EDIT: Apparently, more than a month, not months.
Coronavirus can live in your body for up to 37 days, according to new study
That's a real problem.

Right now the biggest risk of infection is people wondering around empty supermarkets trying to find food. The government need to put a £25-30 per household member per week limit on purchases. Or if that's too complicated, a £50-60 limit, with no return within 72 hours.

Chinese extorted reparation from India to give safe passage or bring back stranded Indians from China. They demanded masks and medical supply and we had to send despite facing shortages at home.

Seeing successful extortion by Chinese, Iranians demanded same and we succumbed to the demands of both the rougue countries. We gave a complete laboratory, masks and medical supply to these *censored*s.

Both supplies were funded by taxpayers money. Chinese kept c17 waiting till their demand was fulfilled and only allowed to evacuate last lot when they received the consignment of masks and medicines from India. So much for 56 inch DK called Modi...😡😡😠😠

Dude, you can't blame Modi for that. Most of our neighbours are extremely shameless, Pakistan and China easily top the list. And in order to get our people out, we have to relent to such ridiculous demands. Anyway, we are a production powerhouse when it comes to medicines and health, so it's a cheap price to pay.

India’s mask makers scramble to meet demand surge amid virus outbreak
Indian manufacturers produce 240 million disposable masks every year, primarily for domestic use, as per the estimates of the Association of Indian Medical Device Industry.

We will soon have the ability to produce millions of test kits a day, capable of dozens of tests with each kit. In terms of health, we don't fvk around.

As for the Iranian lab, that's fine, Iran is facing an epidemic. It wasn't an extortion, they simply lacked the facilities.

Yeah, you guys are gonna have to bring in rationing. We still have plenty of food stocks here. Only biscuits and junk food are out of stock in India, 'cause they can be stored for a long time.

Pilgrims to Iran are Shias, so they are second-class citizens in Pakistan. But I don't think it's going to be as many as 1.5L.

Rather I suspect, there are that many Pakistanis stuck inside Iran with no way to get out, and they are not simply standing in the middle of a desert waiting for some gate to open.

THREAD!!
Interesting thread on possible fatalities in Wuhan - China , a city with a population of 11million. Apparently every Chinese citizen is permitted to have only 1 SIM i.e 1 connection which in turn is linked to his / her national ID card. China Mobile the largest mobile telephony company in China has reported a drop of 8.1 million subscriptions. Totally, all mobile phone operators in China have reported a drop of 15 million subscriptions. One contributor to this thread also reports that 70% of Wuhan appears desolate / abandoned & that the PLA & local police are going door to door recovering rotting corpses.

Any fresh news from your friend whose folks are still trapped in Wuhan? @Bali78 ;

Many of those could be company sponsored sims which could be offline.

Both the countries blackmailed us and we succumbed to their demands. That's the problem. Had they requested for help on commercial basis and we supplied them on human grounds, it would have been a different thing. What is surprising is we didn't exposed the scum bag of a country China in front of the world and taken matter to the UN general assembly and should have shamed them for their conduct. As for Iranians we should have dealt with them by charging the amount for the supply since they don't supply crude oil for free to India.

And yes they should have pleaded and requested on human grounds, not blackmailed us outrightly. And we should not have succumbed to their demands. It makes India look like a BANANA REPUBLIC......😡😡😡😡

Haven’t talked to him since last 2 weeks, since we are all working from home.

Every one is helpless these days. First let's fight the disease, and later when this menace is over, we can take steps.

Why will we create problems now? It's easy for the Chinese to twist what you proposed into anti-Chinese rhetoric by China. The Chinese have done a very good job pushing themselves into a corner due to their handling of the virus in the initial stages, so why do you wanna help them get out of it?

Man, many people on this forum wouldn't survive a day in the world of diplomacy.

We have plenty of food going to supermarkets, but anything that can be stored for long periods, e.g. frozen foods or food that can be frozen, canned food, pasta etc. has just been horded. The actual supply to supermarkets is unaffected. You can tell this just by looking at the milk isle. The milk is still there because it goes off within about 1 week and can't be stockpiled.

The only way to deal with that is rationing. But I guess even the supermarkets are interested in making money, so it's a free-for-all, no pun intended. The govt's gonna have to introduce rationing.
Gov should threaten them to nationalize mask manufacturing if they dont stick to quality and focus on exports

It's a good way to earn forex, especially when other forms of earnings are down, and will go down even more in the near future.

We have plenty of mask production right now, enough to export also. We had initially banned mask exports, but it was later lifted when the govt realised we have plenty of production to make up the difference.
