The political machinery of the Ayatollahs made itself hated enough amongst a significant section of the population - this section still has memories of how much better economically they were, how good their science and arts were and regarded by the others. So many other unfortunate families were on the receiving end. Otherwise why would there be so many people willing to betray the regime? The regime is reaping what it sowed.

Iran won't surrender. It cannot conduct precision and effective strikes against Israel without causing significant civilian deaths. So IRGC's strikes will cause civilian deaths. They will block the Strait of Hormuz, the Houthis will attack the ships. So this will be a pretext for larger strikes against Iran. Notice how Israel stopped striking the Iranian oil refineries - directly harming the economic lifeline of civilians is a strict no-no.

USA under Trump has proved itself to be an unreliable story-teller.

For the US it was a great opportunity to remove Chinese and Russian ties with Iran. Except Iran, the whole of ME is in their pocket. They could not afford to have an antagonistic Iran, one that was close to the superpower-in-waiting. So regime change is the way to go.

How will the Chinese react? Russia? Will they be able to make the ME Islamic countries undertake actions inimical to American and Jewish interests? This is a recipie for further chaos.

I don't know how well regime change will work in Iran. The Shia Pope does not have a direct political opponent and he controls the streets.

70% of Iran may be non-Muslim today, but they are just rabble. In Muslim societies, the majority has always been irrelevant, power is centered around small groups in their dystopian system, kinda like during the heydays of aristocracy.

There is little to worry on that front. We have decided to deal with Pak on our own terms. They are no longer a military threat, even their nukes are in the process of being neutered.

Iran has always been Pakistan's shield against Israel. And Israel hates the Islamic bomb. So no prizes for guessing who's next after Iran.

Iranians are very nationalistic. Even the ones that hat the Mullah regime wont accept any foreign regime change. The best thing Israelis could do is too degrade the IRCG and weaken the position of the Mullah. Maybe the liberal Iranian President can muster enough support to sideline the Mullah and bring back power with the Parliament.
Iran has both the human resource and the natural resource to succeed. Only thing that is standing in the way is the Mullah.
 
Symbolic like in 2020. Iran is not stupid they know what would happen to them if they actually attacked US forces. Orange man is going to understand what this was and move on.

Imo Iran will never achieve a deliverable nuclear capability (KEY WORD DELIVERABLE). Anyone can make nukes but to make it deliverable by missiles is difficult. Iran has to first test and then weaponize thr thing and then make a framework to deploy it and then also make systems to protect sites where they are stored. Considering the level of infiltration Mossad has achieved in Iran, I highly doubt Iran can do any of the above, especially protecting the nuclear sites. They couldn't save the lives of their own key generals and scientists within their own capital, let alone their wider territories!
