Ukraine - Russia Conflict

From the very begining, I had maintained that this war was started to finish off and destroy Europe and not Russia.

Zelensky did not want a ceasefire or a peace plan, and he got what he wanted.

But he didn't realize Europe was far more toothless than he expected, Putin simply does not trust the Europeans and they are incapable of swaying Trump either considering they also think of Trump as their ideological enemy, and Trump knows that. He bit off more than he could chew.

The use of the Russian FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled via fiber optic cable. The video shows the strike of the FPV drone "Vandal" on the Ukrainian armored personnel carrier International MaxxPro, equipped with additional protection. The video was filmed in the village of Kazachya Loknya, Kursk region of Russia. The armored personnel carrier International MaxxPro is produced by the American company Navistar International and was accepted into service in 2007. As a result of the strike of the FPV drone "Vandal", the Ukrainian armored personnel carrier International MaxxPro was destroyed by fire. The fate of the crew is unknown.

Official footage of the use of FAB-250 aerial bombs equipped with the UMPK module in Ukraine by a Russian Su-34 aircraft. FAB-250 M-62 high-explosive bombs were adopted for service in 1962, the bomb weighs 227 kilograms and contains 100 kilograms of explosives. The air strike was carried out on the deployment and concentration points of Ukrainian army units in the settlement of Gulyaipole, Zaporizhia Oblast. A video of the strike by the Russian FAB-250 bomb filmed with an eyewitness in the Kharkiv Oblast has been added.

Footage of Russian FPV drones "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled via fiber optic cable, attacking a Ukrainian M1126 Stryker armored personnel carrier. The video was filmed in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region of Russia. The M1126 Stryker armored personnel carrier was developed by the American company General Dynamics Land Systems and adopted by the US Army in 2003. Ukraine received 180 M1126 armored personnel carriers, according to the latest information, deliveries have now been stopped. The Ukrainian M1126 armored personnel carrier was attacked by several Russian drones, judging by the video, the crew abandoned it. As a result of the attacks, the M1126 armored personnel carrier was destroyed.

Footage of a Russian guided aerial bomb strike on a temporary deployment point of the 37th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the village of Komar in the south of Donbas. It is unknown what carried out the strike. There are two versions. A FAB 3000 bomb and a UMBP D-30SN inter-service munition, information about them is in the links to the video in the comments to the video. The FAB 3000 is not visible on the screen and its explosion is more powerful. It is possible that this UMBP D-30SN munition was launched from a Su-34 aircraft, or a Smerch MLRS or a Tornado-S MLRS. As a result of the precise hit of the Russian bomb, part of the building was destroyed, server equipment and satellite communication terminals were destroyed. The number of Ukrainian servicemen killed is unknown. Information about the successful use of Ukrainian electronic warfare against Russian precision bombs has not been confirmed.

Footage of the attack of the Russian FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled via fiber optic cable, on the Ukrainian self-propelled howitzer 2S1 "Gvozdika". The video was filmed in the village of Tikhonovka, Kramatorsk district, the self-propelled howitzer "Gvozdika" was on the march and stopped in the village to transfer military equipment to the servicemen.
The 122-mm self-propelled howitzer 2S1 "Gvozdika" began to be produced in the USSR in 1968, it is now in service in 28 countries, information about it is on the channel. As a result of the drone attack, a fire started in the self-propelled howitzer 2S1 "Gvozdika", which destroyed the combat vehicle.

“We are woefully under-invested in our transatlantic defense industrial base to produce the capabilities we need at pace and at scale. Russia, with an economy 5% the size of NATO, produces in three months many critical munitions that it takes 32 allies an entire year to produce. I know I’m not making friends amongst the industry at this point, but something is very wrong here, and we must fix it.”

Goffus expanded on that last lesson.

The defense industrial base has “not been this important in a long time,” he explained, adding that the U.S. has to step up its capacity to produce weapons.

Lithuania wants “to buy AMRAAMS for their NASAMS,” he stated. “Five-year wait. I talked to the Bulgarian CHOD [Chief of Defense]. They want to buy Javelins for their Strykers. Seven-year wait. I talked to some of the big allies who want to buy Patriots. 10-year wait. That needs to get fixed.”

An episode of combat work in Ukraine, the Russian 152-mm self-propelled howitzer 2S5 "Giatsint-S". The self-propelled howitzer "Giatsint-S" is located in a semi-underground camouflaged shelter. The artillery unit fires at a stronghold of the Ukrainian army in one of the villages. At the end of the video, the crew of the 2S5 artillery unit reports what targets they managed to hit in Ukraine. The self-propelled howitzer 2S5 "Giatsint-S" was developed in the USSR and accepted into service in 1976. The firing range of the self-propelled howitzer 2S5 "Giatsint-S" is up to 41 km. Currently, Russia has 120 units of 2S5 howitzers in service and 750 units of 2S5 in storage.

Footage of Russian units using an underground gas pipeline in the Sudzha area of the Kursk region of Russia to enter the rear of Ukrainian army units. The video was filmed between Kazachya Loknya and Sudzha. As reported by the media outlet Ukrainska Pravda, citing a source in the Ukrainian unit operating in this direction. On the morning of March 8, about a hundred Russian servicemen passed through the gas pipeline and entered the rear of the Ukrainian army. The breakthrough was made through the underground pipes of the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, through which Russia supplied gas to Europe through Ukrainian territory until January 1, 2025. The diameter of the gas pipe is 1.4 meters. This has already been done by the Russian army in Avdiivka, when two companies of Russian soldiers passed through an underground pipe 3.7 km to the rear of the Ukrainian army positions.

Ships and fighter jets are more important, and NATO is far ahead in comparison. Russia is still 5+ years away from matching Europe alone, and 10+ from all of NATO, at least regionally.

What were the demands from Russian side?

1. Crimea stays in Russia.
2. Donbas becomes a free country.
3. Russian is given equal importance as Ukrainian in Ukraine.
4. Ukraine can join the EU, but not NATO or other military alliances. No foreign troops on their soil.
5. Ukraine reduces the size of its army to 85k troops, about 1000 tanks and artillery.
6. Russia withdraws from all other territories they had invaded at the time, but based on negotiations.
7. Guarantor states would guarantee Ukraine's neutrality, including response if broken by Russia.

Overall 6 and 7 were to get the first 5 objectives. The troops strength is quite reasonable too considering Russia itself had less than 300k for multiple long borders and were weaker in numbers overall.

These demands are quite reasonable compared to today where the Russians are asking for 2 more provinces, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.

Footage of an attack by Russian artillery, MLRS and drones on a Ukrainian military column in the Sudzha area. As is known, units of the Ukrainian army were encircled in the Kursk region, up to 6,400 servicemen may be captured, some groups have begun negotiations. A column of the Ukrainian army in cars and jeeps tried to break out of Sudzha, but was forced to stop due to a bridge blown up by the Russian army. Judging by the video, the attack on the column was carried out competently, first the first and last cars were destroyed. The number of casualties is not reported.

... A priori, this is the first time that a Mirage 2000 has shot down a cruise missile during a war mission.
Such an opportunity could have arisen in the Red Sea, when the Houthi rebels were attacking maritime traffic from Yemen. But, last month, in a message posted on the social network LinkedIn, General Jérôme Bellanger spoke of a dozen drones destroyed by the Mirage 2000-5s of the 3/11 Corsica squadron, based in Djibouti… and not cruise missiles.
“I salute our combat crews engaged in operations who recently destroyed nearly a dozen drones, particularly in the Red Sea. The quality of our weapons systems and the expertise of our crews have once again demonstrated their operational effectiveness,” said the CEMAAE. And he added: "The Ukrainian Armed Forces have new 'combat proven' capabilities to conduct this air combat."
As a reminder, in addition to the MICA IR/EM missiles, the Mirage 2000-5s transferred to Ukraine are notably equipped with an RDY radar, a Spirale decoy launcher, a 30 mm cannon and medium-range MICA IR and EM missiles. In addition, they have been modified to provide them with air-to-ground capabilities

Yeah but they're having to tap a lot of supply chains in nominally non-aligned countries for munitions though. Jets, tanks & ships need munitions to shoot/drop as well.

I kinda want the US to suspend all material support indefinitely, with EU taking over by footing the bill for all procurement from now on. This will be almost guaranteed to increase order books with Indian companies as Europe/NATO's own capacity for production (if we discount US) will take a long time to ramp up to desired levels.

Adani is going all-in with munition factories, as are about half a dozen public & private companies. We need all these factories to be spun up & primed for large-scale production so that they can become cost-competitive enough to survive on the international market on their own instead of having to rely solely on our MoD's piecemeal orders.

We need all this infrastructure ready to roll if we want to stalemate China.
