Ukraine - Russia Conflict

Korshun-2

This isn’t just speculation. In one of his last interviews before Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky fired him on Sunday, disgraced former Ukrainian defense minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that, in order to hit targets deep inside Russia proper, Ukraine’s military needs a munition capable of traveling 2,000 kilometers. That’s 1,240 miles, roughly a third the distance across Russia from east to west.

The cost to Russia keeps increasing exponentially each year.

An important factor that ensures the effectiveness of a ballistic missile attack is that repelling it calls for the target to be within an anti-missile defense system coverage area directly. Although the russians claim their S-400 and S-300V have the anti-ballistic capability, the validity of this statement is objectively doubtful since these systems don't use kinetic interceptors. Also, russians have a reason to be concerned about whether they have enough of those systems to cover all the important objects the missile would be able to reach.

Just to add to this:

First 1000km for Hrim-2:

Korshun-2 range:

Whilst Korshun-2 only reaches across a third of Russia it reaches 75% of all Russian military installations. Basically all the ones in Europe.

I'll believe it when I see it. Even before the war there was a claim about Ukraine having an Iskander kind of BM that was for Saudi Arabia but after two years nothing has come of it.

Personally I think Ukraine should stick to easy and cheap long range attack weapons like drones via Iran's shaheed. BM are too expensive and not easy to make in high quantity in the middle of a war.
