In my view the Marathas expanded very rapidly after Aurangzeb's death
They even reached Attock ; so naturally the Afghans must have been planning revenge
They should have waited for some time for consolidation before taking on Afghans directly
Panipat was a Logistics disaster ; it was also an avoidable battle since Marathas were
on their own having antagonised all other Indian Kingdoms
The Maratha never got any help.
They did not need it.
But to fight against them on the side of the Muslims first and then the Brits.
And then make a song and dance about Hindutva.
Is it any surprise that this crap doesn't find traction in Maharashtra.
It's called memory. And there is nothing but contempt for such Jaichands.
Cheers, Doc
