This Rare Cockpit Video Of Chinese Fighter Pilots Dogfighting Offers Unique Insights
In-cockpit footage of actual air combat training always makes great viewing, however, a new video offers rare insight into Chinese fighter operations making it even more engaging. This intense clip posted online by China’s People’s Daily newspaper shows People’s Liberation Army Air Force pilots turning and burning in Chengdu J-10 multi-role fighters.

The full version of the video can be seen here. Without the overdubbed music, the English communications are easy to hear.

The People’s Daily Twitter post states: “The Northern Theater Command brigade in the video is known for its notable combat record, having shot down or damaged 67 warplanes in the Korean War against the US.”

The full video seems to include some stock footage, but the main in-cockpit sequences appear to have been shot from inside two-seat J-10AS variants, the combat-capable training version of the original J-10A. This would indicate that the aircraft depicted are from the 34th Air Brigade based at Qihe, in Shandong province. This base comes under China’s Northern Theater Command (NTC) and is home to the 34th Air Brigade, which is the only unit equipped with both the J-10A and AS versions within this command.

One of the most interesting aspects of the footage is that it apparently confirms Chinese fighter pilots use English to communicate in these kinds of engagements, unless the words have been overdubbed on the footage. It has long been thought that PLAAF fighter pilots use English, but it has never been officially confirmed.

The pilots in this clip use radio callsigns “Jaeger 1 and 2” and common air combat language, such as “tally,” which means they have made visual contact with the other aircraft, and "Fox 2" which means firing a close-range heat-seeking missile.

Also of note in the video is the overlay of a situational display and head-up display, albeit with some critical information being obscured. In addition, a forward-facing camera has the aircraft’s main console similarly obscured.

All told, even in this short clip, there is plenty of interesting information to be observed, as well as some good old-fashioned air-to-air adrenaline and exuberance as J-10 pilots train together and hone their “dogfighting” skills.

China Is Developing A New, Twin-Seater ‘Stealth Aircraft’ Similar To Russian SU-34

Amid reports of US encirclement of China by arming its allies with F-35 5th Generation Joint Strike Fighter Aircraft, China is now developing a new stealth, twin-seater jet based on its own aircraft – the J-20 which will act as an early-warning aircraft.

The new variant based on the J-20 is intended to be a command and control center for friendly aircraft operating in the area as an early warning aircraft. It may also be used to guide the munitions launched by other aircraft over the intended target area.
The aircraft would be the first in its class to employ twin-seater variants, compared to the current production American F-22 Raptors, F-35 and Su-57 which are single-seater aircraft.
On Saturday, South China Morning Post revealed that the Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute (CADI) is working to develop a new “breakthrough” variant of the J-20 which would employ as a mobile command and control (C2) aircraft. The new variant is expected to have better avionics than its predecessors.

The revelations came after a report emerged on War Industry Black Technology, a social media platform run by Shenzhen-based Quantum Defense Cloud Technology which displayed the design of a twin-seater variant similar to the Su-34 undergoing design and development stage. It was said that the aircraft would serve as an early warning aircraft.
The new plane is set to be a 5th-generation design with supersonic cruise capability and is said to be similar to the Russian Su-34 twin-seater supersonic medium-range fighter-bomber, featuring a side-by-side cockpit to ensure a better cooperative environment for the pilots.
However, the plane is not expected to be used for bombing roles and would be equipped with a more fighter-centric payload. “It is not a real bomber. To maintain stealth and agility, all missiles should be put inside the bays, which means only light air-to-air bombs are allowed”, a source told SCMP.
The vulnerabilities of carrying air-to-ground munitions were also highlighted, stating “All bombers carrying heavy bombs would be easily detected by the integrated air defense system (IADS), which means two-seater stealth fighters could not cause any threat to American military bases or even aircraft carrier strike groups.”
The J-20 is designed as a platform which would be able to accommodate innovations and allow development of new variants. According to a military insider, CADI’s main focus is to develop a carrier-based fighter for PLAN’s new generation aircraft carrier Type 002- which is currently in final assembly featuring CATOBAR facility.

Developing... Not sure about authenticity.

Also, Su 'Kai' seemed hilarious..

While the southern bank of Pangong Tso has been secured, as reported by ET, it is learnt that Indian forces have also taken dominating positions north of the Finger area, to cut off possible ingress routes by Chinese forces.

In particular, the Anne La and Kiu La passes on the LAC have been occupied by special operations troops to keep a check on Chinese moves north of the Pangong sector and to secure the Galwan valley as well.

As reported, dominating heights have been taken all along the LAC in eastern Ladakh, from DBO in the north to Chumar in the south.

Someone needs to update the map.

Those are for BMs. Not sure if THAAD has anti-aircraft capability. Also the aircraft is said to have crashed in China. Nothing is confirmed.

People are saying its iHAWK / Sky Bow-III missile . Let wait for confirmation.
