You can sit in the gaps of our collective ignorance due to lack of data on the performance of the HQ-9. But Pak's other Chinese defenses like HQ-16 and FM-90 failed to intercept drones and missiles. The IAF got through all of Pakistan's and China's defenses without using saturation attacks.
Pakistan used hundreds of drones, even CMs and BMs. India used only a few drones, missiles, and bombs. All the sat pics have been made available, so you can count them yourself.
We have seen videos where single Harop drones could penetrate Pak defenses.
Stock market is very good indicator of what actually happened.
No sat images of base destruction? Western analysts have rubbished any attacks on Indian bases with before and after satellite images.
I think there's actually a good reason for why we never exercised the option for +2 more that existed in original deal.
I don't know the specifics but I think there are some limitations wrt what the Phalcon is able to network & cooperatively engage with. I don't know if this is a problem that's fixable down the line or not.
But there's a reason why we seem intent on Netra Mk-1A & Mk-2 but haven't shown any interest in additional Phalcons.

So the choice was between waiting for IL-476 with Phalcon and A330 with indigenous radar, and we chose the A330. DRDO has a veto on such things. But even the A330 got delayed 'cause we were busy building this advanced IADS and C2 network, while others were claiming the govt had no money for defense modernization.
Netra series became important 'cause they are cheap and a lot of money is now being spent on a space network to compensate for capablity deficiencies the Netras will have. The A330 version is gonna come too, but at a later date.
