It's mostly American permission that you will need. Did you need British permission to integrate them to the Jaguar?

And if you ask the Americans while you have aircraft procurement projects, they will refuse because they'll see it as a incentive to buy one of their aircraft instead of what the IAF wants. So keep them on the Jaguar for the time being, and look for integration on other platforms in, say, 2035 or so.
You can say american permission matters more since its bit difficult to get. Logically you need OEM & french approval to integrate anything other than french origin on Rafale.

With the ability to track 4 targets, it beats the Bars comfortably.

For example, Bars can only track 2 targets on the ground, whereas the Jaguar can track much more than that simply by being AESA. If MKI can attack 2 targets in a single pass, Jaguar may be able to attack 4 or even 6 targets in a single pass, perhaps 8. This way you kill more while subjecting yourself to less airtime over an enemy target.

They should be able to improve it to 6 as the software develops. It's also possible the Israelis will release it as a software patch and get paid for it at a later date.

It refers to air combat manoeuvring mode of the radar, where the radar creates several sweeping patterns so that a radar lock is generated instantly and automatically. It's used for navigation. It helps you join your formation or identify other formations once you have taken off. ACM mode is used to find your trail position in your group.

18NM is the safest range scale for trail, normally it's done at much lower ranges, so it denotes the radar can use it at such a large scale even though it's so small.

150Km should be the instrumented range. It means the radar won't bother about targets it picks up beyond that range regardless of the type of target and displays only targets within 150Km from itself to the pilot. It's a pretty impressive range for such a small radar. Most larger MS radars are instrumented to 150 to 300Km, so it most definitely is impressive. It likely provides Mig-21's Kopyo-M level detection range which is enough for the Jaguar to use the ASRAAM to its max range against air targets. At low altitudes that's deadly since AAMs do not have greater range than 20 or 25Km.

I'm guessing 1100-1200 TRMs if it's GaAs, so the peak power rating will be 11-12KW.

10W is almost the peak for a GaAs-based TRM. Any higher will only bring in inefficiencies, especially in aircraft that have not been designed from the beginning to carry AESA radars in the X band.

If it's GaN, then no idea.

PS: That graph explains why AESA missile seekers above X band require GaN.
 
M2K-I equipped with a pod (what appears to be) fitted with Crystal Maze/Popeye seeker head (IIR). Not a complete kit as fins are missing.

Or is it just a Recce pod?

Very interesting find. It does seem like the body of the targeting pod is borrowed from the LITENING pod.

They have replaced the forward sensor section. Again from appearance it does look like Crystal Maze's IIR seeker.

This is most likely IAF's own creation. But the question is why ? LITENING pod has IIR/day camera sensors. Is the Crystal Maze's IIR seeker superior for some reason ? May be it is superior in with in a specific frequency range (say VNIR). Still quite strange, what are they trying to achieve here ?
