Delayed GE engines

For the Light Combat Aircraft, the largely indigenous fighter developed by the DRDO, GE has supplied only five engines so far. Supply chain difficulties are the primary reason, highly-placed sources said. The project for 180 fighter aircraft (83 in the first tranche and 97 in the next) is, of course, delayed, but there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Five more are expected in the next three months-- the end of the financial year and in the next financial year, another 20 engines. By then, at least, there will be enough for a squadron. The last engines should arrive by 2032, seven years after the programme began.

Of course not, that would upset so many folks. It would 'damage' our partnership if we asked about delays. MEA babus will be the first to call him and lecture how these delays are helpful and not a cause for concern.
Tbh, they do kinda do that with some of their absurd requirements. IAF always want some kind of weird custom system even for imported stuff. Which obviously upset even foreign OEMs. Now, in recent years they have toned down it a little bit for both foreign and local products.

Yup, there is always a reason for lazy *censored* DPSUs.
Hate to break it to you, but missile integration is a complex subject, especially when you don't own the radar's IP.
You have to co-ordinate with multiple local & foreign stakeholders to conduct an RCA, analyse the findings, make changes in accordance to those findings, re-conduct firing trials and then get the missile certified.
