"Hopefully, the first two of those are going to be delivered with weapons integration this September. We will do the contact signing next month,"
Okay, that's fine, but the question is, what are the capabilities they have now? Can they carry Jammer and fire Astra missiles (certified), or are tests still in progress? So only 2 engines delivered since they started engine delivery in June ?
OMG
Astra missile not yet tested . It was supposed to be in August but now pushed to September .Okay, that's fine, but the question is, what are the capabilities they have now? Can they carry Jammer and fire Astra missiles (certified), or are tests still in progress?
The Mk1A does have an in-flight refueling probe, so range or flight hours will depend on driver fatigue. If needed, MKI can do a buddy refuel in an emergency.Guys I have a doubt about the ferry range of tejas . I have seen multiple estimates about the range being 3200+ km or 1800 km but wherre does this figure come from like from the interview of the tejas pilot in singapore himself said that the ferry is 900 miles (1400 km) with 3 droptanks
Unfortunately, it continues to crawl at the slowest speed possible. I can understand the rage that certain def. enthusiasts continue to feel.
It's a clear incompetence, Tejas mk1a have been flying for quite some time, but they delayed the weapons integration, rudram & SAAW are not even in the line for integration,Unfortunately, it continues to crawl at the slowest speed possible. There are a multitude of factors that exist within government organizations that continue to plague their efficiency. A professional outlook and timely delivery of projects is one of them. It's a clear incompetence, Tejas mk1a have been flying for quite some time, but they delayed the weapons integration, rudram & SAAW are not even in the line for integration,
Tejas mk2 rollout supposed to happen in 2025 but it was pushed back to 2026 now it got even delayed pushed to 2027, first flight by 2028, induction by 2035, when everyone is moved to 6th gen, we are going to outdated jets for the time period, Every projects runs on delay, i don't what the excuses ADA, drdo & HAL gonna give for the delay,
The present government and the MOD haven't done anything to solve the crisis, weapons integration supposed to be happen in sept & delivered by sept as per def sec now it's gonna be October, and 2 more engines are going to delivered by year end, they haven't signed the engine deal, squadron are at all time low, mk2 rollout supposed to happen this year, now it's going to happen in 2027,There are a multitude of factors that exist within government organizations that continue to plague their efficiency. It is also long term planning that has hampered this project in particular. The HAL seems ill prepared to deliver the MK1A in time.
Can I just venture out and say something - Not making Kaveri a functioning engine for a 4th gen fighter has really come to bite the IAF in the *censored*.
I will have to blame the present MoD administration for the Kaveri issue. They have been in play long enough to realise the stakes. I will say no more as there exists a separate thread for this issue.
I do not know how to console you. All I can say is that hopefully someone amongst the babus has a modicum of shame left and will do what is right. The defence minister must be aware of what is going on for sure and will have to share the blame. Accountability? That's too strong a word to be used in the world of babudom. Relax and leave this thread be for sometime. The present government and the MOD haven't done anything to solve the crisis, weapons integration supposed to be happen in sept & delivered by sept as per def sec now it's gonna be October, and 2 more engines are going to delivered by year end, they haven't signed the engine deal, squadron are at all time low, mk2 rollout supposed to happen this year, now it's going to happen in 2027,
And we are supposed to fight 2 front war, when we don't have any Allies, does the ppl in charge even realise the threat we are facing, they aren't buying any aircrafts nor they are making any aircraft, we are cooking excellent recipes for disaster, they made Astra mk1 irrelevant for current conflict,
There's no accountability at all from ADA to drda and HAL,
And there were people talking about rollout at last aero IndiaLCA Mk2 is scheduled for rollout in 2027

What you are asking for is infeasible as you've stated yourself. If you look at the political landscape, you have no leverage to get GE to deliver them faster. The orders for Mk1A are unlikely to increase.mean while order MK1A in more numbers and
get GE to deliver faster(probably impossible) won't a 400+ engine order to GE make them get faster?.
