Islamic Republic of Afghanistan : News & Discussions

that’s a very important move:

If Sirajuddin is not assassinated by the ameer Akhundzada, or by the ISI, or by IS_K (which amounts to the same thing in both cases), then I imagine the same fate for Siraj as for al-Sharaa in Syria.

It's not practical for the Haqqanis to take over the more hardline Afghan Taliban though. And both groups are trying to deal with ISKP, so are unlikely to fight each other until ISKP is gone.

Lifting the bounties benefits India in openly negotiating with the Taliban, while both India and America get to challenge China in Pakistan. And some of the most important areas along the Pak border are controlled by the Haqqanis, hence the need to normalize. In the meantime, TTP and the BLA are doing a good job.

That's how I view this situation.

As a true Hindusthani, I support Taliban.
They dress eat look like us so why not.
Deobandi ideology originated in India not in Greece. Its a shame that we still follow rules made by people who robbed thousands of trillions of rupeeya from our ancestors. Taliban Zindabad.

Henry Kissinger said `It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend, is fatal. To understand what being America's friend meant to Afghans, an Afghan army officer shared his story for my blog. A story on fighting the Taliban and how America abandoned them, to the heart wrenching time he was abandoned, as Kabul fell.
My article also features a first person account from a student in Kabul, on life under the Taliban.

Trump says US trying to reclaim Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan

US seeking to regain control of Afghanistan’s Bagram airbase, says Trump

“We’re trying to get it back because they need things from us. We want that base back. But one of the reasons we want the base is, as you know, it’s an hour away from where China makes its nuclear weapons.”
