Did a piece on the upgrade routinely issued to NSG for their MP-5s:

Are they still using the MP5 years later? Most Western SF and FPDs have dropped it in recent years.

Well any and every MP5 in service is heavily accessorized, as you can see. But NSG also use the Sig Sauer MPX in bulk, so that's something......

As they should be these days. I'm just more surprised to see a high level SF unit still make widespread use of the MP5, but it's nice to see them transitioning to the MPX, which is a great upgrade as far as PDWs go.

This is an exercise so no mag is loaded, but this is what our current MP5 upgrade looks. This one belongs to a police detachment though.

The MP5 has largely been replaced by the MP7 for both SF, non-SF and policing duties.

can any one tell me why soldiers cluster like this , isn't there a higher probability of getting hit by a grenade or bullet ? If a bullet misses one it will hit next one, grenade obviously will hit atleast one of them as it will be hard for a group of ppl to disperse quickly.

TASL has a JV with Exelis an American firm which is now owned by L3 Harris. As now it’s essentially screwdrivergiri, but with more orders they can scale up and indigenise more components and design their own products in the future. This is anyday better than direct imports.
That means we can soon get more optics and other stuff from Tata.
