STOVL and VTOL should be fine. But CTOL is going to be extremely difficult.
I told u that it has to be a hybrid carrier which can use both kind of fixed wing compliment. The latest generation arresting systems are not as complicated and all u need is an angled deck for landing.

Okay, let's see what's going to happen. I'm not gonna pin my hopes on that though. I still think it's going to be a helicopter carrier.
 
Means Royal Navy type concept.
Till HMS Ocean was there, plus two LPDs supported by Bay Class Ships from Royal Navy Auxillary forces ?
Not sure considering HMS Ocean was an assault ship. We don't have any plans to get one. FSS will have double the full load capacity of the Ocean ! (~40,000 ton)

Indian Navy equips landing platform dock with indigenous combat systems

The Indian Navy has equipped its amphibious warfare ship, INS Jalashwa , with indigenously developed combat systems.

Recent images of the warship indicate that it has been installed with the Bharat Electronics Revathi radar in place of the legacy SPS-40 air search radar.

The vessel has also received the locally developed Kavach naval decoy launchers, and Indian-made electro-optical (EO) fire control directors for its AK-630M gun mounts.

The ship's Phalanx close-in weapon system (CIWS) turrets, which were included during its transfer from the US, have been removed.

But isn't it true that we can't use ins jalashwa in combat as per the contract with uncle Sam..
 
So why are we wasting funds on this ship when we should buy torpedoes for our new scorpene submarines, which are sailing with old torpedoes..
As the Navy is the flag bearer of indigenous tech, the Navy must be waiting for DRDO Takshak(submarine launched variant of Varunastra torpedo) to fully develop. Also, talks with French and British torpedo makers is going on.
 
Why can't naval design bureau design them?
No experience. Could have hired a consultant back in 2013, designed the ship & break up the order between multiple large shipyards. The large yards could contract ship blocks to smaller shipyards. Could've developed the entire ecosystem that way, from desing to production. By 2020, even with slow construction speed, we would've had a few ships ready.

But here we are. The Navy couldn't think creatively, its not entirely their fault either. The bureaucracy doesn't do creative thinking either, the Navy's top brass would be straddled for not following policy(even when there is no policy). There would be CAG reports about acquisition policy inconsistencies etc etc.

Italians were consultants for IAC1 design amf a lot of features are derived from their Amphibious Flat Tops. We should be able to use IAC1 experience to develop a flat top with well deck.

New Delhi: A budget crunch could force the Indian Navy’s hand to cut down the number of Landing Platform Docks (LPDs) it is seeking to buy, ThePrint has learnt. The Navy is now looking at two LPDs, also known as amphibious transport docks, instead of four.

Defence sources told ThePrint that the Navy is working on drafting a fresh ‘Request for Proposal’ (RFP) with new specifications for the LPDs, and discussions are on to reduce the number to two. However, a senior defence official told ThePrint that the Navy can float another tender in the future to buy the other two LPDs, depending on its priorities.

The defence ministry in September withdrew the earlier RFP for procuring four LPDs. The Navy had, in November 2013, invited proposals from private shipyards to build these four LPDs at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore. Since then, the RFP saw nine extensions and one re-submission of bids in seven years before it was withdrawn in September.

Earlier this year, the Comptroller and Auditor General, in its report tabled in Parliament, had pointed out the Navy’s failure to conclude the contract to procure the LPDs, despite deciding on the acquisition in 2010.

Instead of cutting down on numbers, the program can be stretched over a longer period .

This will make economic sense for different contractors and shipyards which may work on any naval contract.

It would be inefficient. If the market can provide state of the art designs and systems then no need to meddle in it.

Directorate of Naval Design was essential when the industry was nonexistent. Frigate and Destroyer designs are the basic blocks to have a self-sufficient navy. So the navy took it as a natural stepping stone. For Aircraft carrier design as there is none available in the market that can fit our requirements.

DND is one of the reasons for delays in Project 15 and 75. They constantly revise the design in between the construction. There is no actual money saved since we are paying the Russian and Italian design bureau hefty consultancy fees.

Take a look at the Project 28 corvette. How hard do you think it is to design a 2.8-ton ship ?. Private shipyards like L&T or even PSU's without navy's help has produced better designs and delivered faster.
