Kalyani MArG mounted gun system 4x4 comes in 3 Calibre — 39, 45 & 52.

On a somewhat related topic, DRDO was working on Bourrelet "nubless" projectiles as described in this @RandomGoober X post:

PIB release: The AoN was also accorded for 155 mm Nubless projectile for use in 155 mm Artillery guns which will enhance lethality and safety of the projectiles

Note this includes a "Rocket Assisted" projectile with ~60km range.

Apparently, Reliance Defence has been selected as the DCPP for this project:

Why the fcuk 45 cal when Dhanush 52 is there, Bharat Forge 52 cal is there and ATAGS 52 cal is there.

Although I feel relieved I am seeing this and not the news of 300 Athos.
They will need few years of testing just to validate 52 caliber. This is OFB we are talking about.

I wonder if it's possible to upgrade the old FH77 to the Dhanush 45 caliber standard.

This was the original plan to replace all the bofors with Dhanush-45 (114+300) but then OFB and COVID messed up the production. Army then planned to upgrade the bofors by itself, but now I guess the production issues got resolved and more Dhanush are being ordered.

But didn't OFB export a few 155/52 cal barrels to Bofors Test centre in Sweden sometime around 2020 to test with NATO ammunition.
We haven't so far heard about any issues with those barrels, so it would have been really beneficial to order 52 cal variant of Dhanush rather than the 45 cal variant.
