Indian Army Artillery Systems : News and Updates

So seems like both Tata and Kalyani got the confirmatory trials done.

Good thing about this gun is its immense stability of the gun during the fire, yesterday i saw a video of IA firing an upgunned 105 howitzer ( now 155 cal ), the gun literally jumped from ground due to recoil.
DAC clearance for ATAGS was only for 150 for first batch actually. Rest gap left by cancelling the import of guns can be filled by giving an order for 300 Dhanush 52 in the interim.
If everything goes smooth, How many of theses systems we gonna order at the end of the day?

How many do we need to replace 1700 IFGs/LFGs, 500 D30s, 500 M46s? 😀
Anyways talking numbers 1400+ were supposed to be imported in 155/52 cal and 400+ Dhanush were planned. So 1800 towed 155/52/45 were planned. Further 600 ULH 155mm were needed.

Thats minimum.

MGS & follows on k9 extra.

PSQR is enough for limited production, it's quite stringent already. The question is whether the GSQR will even happen.

At the very least, the gun is finally ready... as per PSQR. But is already almost as good as what the IA needs. Post production, we will see the serial variant finalised, perhaps as per GSQR.

Now GSQR has been cancelled.

Our next objective should be indigenization of quality artillery shells & Excalibur equivalents.

Yeah. Which is why I have the doubt. But ATAGS is an old program and the old PSQR may not necessarily have everything the IA needs. So it's possible the new process is for new PSQRs, while ATAGS may follow the old process. But I'm not sure. Whatever the case it's just limited production for now.

The #IndianArmy deployed 800CC ATV as prime mover for 120mm #Mortar at high altitude in response to the #Army need for a fire support system that is lighter, more mobile and internally transportable for missions requiring tactical versatility, speed and close-in fire support to help protect front-line troops in combat. #IndiaChinaFaceOff The 120mm towed mortar are designed to be individually towed by an ODES 800CC Prime Mover and can be internally transported in the #IndianAirForce MI17V1, CH-47 Chinook, C-130J, AN-32, IL-76MD, C-17 transport aircraft.
