What are in the biggest mistakes the Air Force has made? I want to know what you guys think.
For example, I saw one member say not considering acquiring F-16's more, and I kinda agree.
I want to hear what you guys think are the biggest mistakes IAF has made!

Rafale 1.0 was signed to know and understand where we stand Technologically vis a vis the SU 30 and what upgrades we need for Tejas Mk 2

What I read is that Tejas MK2 Sensor Fusion and Cockpit has been influenced by Rafale

Since our Enemy Targets are just Next Door , we will be relying heavily on Missiles

Even for China ,.If a conflict breaks out , I don't think IAF will undertake attacks on Tibetan Bases and Airfields using Manned Fighters

The truth is that IAF didn't want the Flanker to begin with. They had their heart set on 126 M2000-5, perhaps to be followed by the Rafale (early prototypes were already flying at the time) at a later date.

You're right about the IAF being on the defensive against China. But the IAF's thinking remains platform centric vs network centric. Fleet-wide datalinking has been lagging for decades.

Not taking ownership of the indigenous fighter development efforts. The AF has typically been the impetus for technological (and manufacturing) progress in nations where it decides to build rather than buy. And build doesn't just mean giving orders.
