India - Pakistan Diplomatic Ties

The Water Scene is getting attention. Phase 2 Perhaps?

This video is just one of a series of videos that came up in the last 2-3 days. Pakistan is unnerved by the water issue.

So far, their studios have resorted to coping by bringing in fluent English speakers because nothing soothes the awam like verbal opium in English. The currently prevailing mindset in Pak land is -

1. India cannot undertake an any major project due to natural barriers
2. Engineering challenges in these project mean India cannot pull a mega project of this nature and completely block a river
3. The time needed to build a project is 5-10 years allowing Pakistan many windows to act in many ways. (They may have a point here)

Points 1,2 IMO are manageable. Point 3 - is valid and will need handling.

Pakistan is now preparing a mega campaign in the information, opinion, intelligentsia and diplomatic space. They know they can milk the world opinion and turn it towards non military means. They have taken massive notes from the Palestine piece and are eager to apply it in their scenario.

70+ years of non alignment policy mady by india forces US & China, current top two superpowers to align with Pakistan.

Thanks to Nehru, thanks to Russian fanboys in babu circle
Who even take Gao seriously? There is no need of widow cry over this. He has made many such extraordinary remarks in the past. Let the people who are experienced with what goes on geopolitical chess board handle it i.e MEA. They certainly have more awareness about pros and cons of certain deals/engagement/decisions than laymen like us who are oblivious of the technicalities and minute details of such affairs.

Its more on the present Govt.

India chose (rightly so IMO) to maintain strategic independence. Actions like Russian arms purchases (S-400 touched a nerve, Russian oil purchases, refusal to join the Anti China alliance) have convinced the US that Indian policy like France will strive to maintain an independent presence.

The Rafale selection was big enough to cause the resignation of the US Ambassador. US has come out openly and shouted from the top of the roof - Our feelings get hurt when you dont buy US equipment.

The old solution of throwing them a bone here and there (P8s, C-130s, Apaches, Chinooks) doesnt cut it anymore.

Contrast it with Pakistan - who will lie down butt naked face down on a satin sheet with scented candles whenever Orangeman is in the mood - what are you expecting?

> Our feelings are hurt when ...

But don't mind us while we roll out the red carpet for the head of a bordering country right after they carried out terrorism against your country and reward him with bailouts!

And don't mind us while we throw out a democratically elected leader in another bordering country and prop up a puppet who also wants to terrorize your country!

And they will do more of it until we either stuff them with money or we reach an understanding with them.

Take your pick

"It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal"

IMHO, strategic autonomy continues to remain the best decision. Maintain a transactional relationship, and pursue opportunities to get closer if they avail themselves. There are always other options opening up, like a newly liberated EU.

This is what happened to us now.
