First COVID-19 patient administered plasma therapy at Max shows 'positive' results, put off ventilator
The first patient who was administered plasma therapy in Max Hospital in Delhi's Saket showed "positive" results and was weaned off ventilator support, Max Healthcare said in a statement today.
The convalescent plasma therapy aims at using immune power gained by a recovered person to treat a sick person. It uses antibodies from the blood of cured patients to treat severely-ill COVID-19 patients. This has to be a voluntary donation from the patients who have recovered from the disease.

The problem even after weaning off is the high incidence of myocardial infarction/acute thrombotic incidents due to the virus inhibiting PAI-1 which results in thrombotic events even in a non-susceptible population.
Fibrosis of lungs(mild cases) and multi organ failure and lastly myocardial infraction is already happening in sever cases without inducing plasma for treatment. That's how the diseases is progressing.
It is NOT the death rate that is a problem
It is that all people will fall sick at the same time in the country given our density of population

Because the infection has spread rapidly in US
For India we need a Controlled Outbreak

I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about even in mild cases if there is a chest infection or mild pneumonia, lung fibrosis was reported. Controlled outbreak for this season, what about next season if it returns?
As I said long ago, India's plan is to produce more cheap labour to reduce cost of production and this has caused this. Indians are enemy of Indians. 70 years of India doomed India. Fibrosis is in prolonged cases, where you have cases beyond 72 hours still around. Am talking in terms of acute onset, where the patient presents, is put on ventilator, recovers, is extubated and then dies of Myocardial Infarction.
The lungs are failing due to cytokine storm, as the body's immune system kicks in and activates the cytokines. As for multi-organ failure, that is the result primarily of poor perfusion consequent to hemodynamic failure again as a consequence of activated immune response and localized inflammatory reactions in vasculature.
Myocardial infarction and stroke is increasingly coming as the sole presentation in ER in young patients who are not at a risk of the same. This is being attributed to the suppression of PAI-1 which increases thrombotic episodes.
