Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on August 6 asked Indian real estate developers to partner with Israeli counterparts to boost productivity and profitability.

Addressing the realtors' apex body CREDAI conference through video messaging, Netanyahu said Israel and India are already collaborating in many areas like security, agriculture, cyber and IT, and now construction and real estate.

The prime minister said CREDAI is holding conference in Israel is another sign of the growing ties between Israel and India.

"The future belongs to those who innovate … Israel is innovation nation," he said.

Stating that the world is changing rapidly because of technological advancement, Netanyahu said: "Technology is changing every industry, including the construction industry. The confluence of big data, connectivity, artificial intelligence is revolutionising the world and no area is going to be exempt".

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I recognised this and that is why we are fostering closer relations in every field from security, to cyber, IT, agriculture and now we have construction and real estate," he added.

Netanyahu asked Indian developers to consider the possibility of partnering with Israeli counterparts.

"You can increase the productivity and profitability of your own enterprises by partnering with Israelis who are eager to partner with you to seize the future together," he added.

Speaking at the event, Indian ambassador to Israel Pavan Kapoor said there is lot of scope for collaboration between India and Israel in the construction and real estate sector.

Kapoor said the bilateral trade between India and Israel is USD 5.5 billion, of which only USD 102.6 million is in construction services (including equioment installation).

The ambassdor spoke at length about real estate market of Tel Aviv as well as Israel.

CREDAI is realtors apex industry body with around 12,000 builders as its members. It is holding its national conference NATCON here. Property consultant CBRE is knowldge partner of this event.

Why there is a need to sell 20% to Arabs?
It is a private enterprise, not a GOI undertaking. His choice to bring in more cash to expand the company? simple as that? For all he cares, he might sell 100% - his father and him built this empire, it is a for their benefit not for the benefit of nation.

Technically that is true.

But anything to do with strategic resources is definitely under state purview.

Under this dispensation we have cosied up to the Arabs and are pissing on our Iranian ties.

Under this dispensation we have gone completely into the American camp and have pushed away our oldest and most important and reliable big brother.

Cheers, Doc

As long as they don't reach 26%, no strategic interest is compromised. Govt decides how much FDI is allowed and less than 26%, under indian company law, you are not promoter group and that means only minority protection rights. But the choice is still with the entrepreneur, as long as the FDI is open.

I did start by say technically.

But foreign relations are a lot about perceptions as they are about dollars and interest alignment.

We are now seen as solidly in the American and Arab camp.

Nothing is more distasteful to me ....

did not get your point with "We are now seen as solidly in the American and Arab camp."

Russians see as being in the American camp now.

Iranians see as being in the Arab camp now.

Historically both these sides have helped our enemy directly against us.

So have the Iranians. Of course that was the Shah. Not the Mullahs.

But my mind just goes numb at the stupidity of losing Russia to the US.

Cheers, Doc

You don't follow much of foreign policy, do you?
Back in the day, after the sanctions were lifted on Iran and we were negotiating with them for leasing one of their gas fields, the Iranians played hardball & what's more , brought in the Russians as extra leverage . They also held up our investment in Chahbahar. Result, as soon as Trump came in, the Indians went slow in their negotiations. The rest of the story is known to you. Now add in Pakistan to the mix and deduce for yourself that in order to straighten out Pakistan and secure for ourselves support in nailing terror related activities of Pakistan, who's support is more important? Iran or the US? Then there's the question of US investment particularly as the US China trade ties sour

As regards Russia, the arms deal of a few billions that we signed with them last year should ensure support for us for a decade.

For last 20+ years Jamnagar area has been India’s strategic nightmare due to huge investments and proximity to Pakistan. Overnight that area has turned into a no fly zone for Pak Air Force.

All I can see is that now Indians are paying Arabs to kill Indians.

But this is India.

And history is only repeating itself for the nth time.

Statecraft isn't driven by emotions, it is driven by what is in national interest. We need to change camps or at-least be neighbour to those with whom our interest align and re evaluate options. International relations are not equivlaent to human relationships.

Instead of being cryptic, why don't you elaborate?

Salafi-Wahabi and the terrorist their teachings radicalization of Indian Citizens and hence by paying them we are indirectly strengthening the Saudi which is the core of all terrorist and, hard-line Islamic ideology.

SA is in a transition to became a Normal Country is being completely missed. Prince MBS recent activities sugget that. but he needs to watch it carefully which he is clearly not doing.

There is a dialogue in Godfather II, “You should keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer”. Extremely applicable in international diplomacy.

You have a trusting soul.

And one that forgets easy.

Sadly I've been blessed by neither.

Not personally. Not ancestrally.

Salafi teachings constitute the software. The hardware has always been provided by Pakistan. As regards Iran, who here will deny that the Itna 'Ashari Shias seek spiritual & political guidance from Iran . In fact if ever there's a direct confrontation between Iran & KSA, you can bet both sects here will go at each other's throats apart from joining these camps overseas for battle. Need we even talk about the support for Kashmiri separatists Kashmir's Shias got from Iran and I mean armed training from the IRGC in the early to mid 90's before active Indian diplomacy , economic engagements coupled with Iran being extremely isolated made it see reason. Let's also not forget that Indian oil tankers were actively targeted during the Iran Iraq War in the 80's as India then sourced most of its oil supplies from Iraq given it's friendly relations with the Saddam regime which in turn was driven courtesy the Shah of Iran's friendly relations with Pakistan given both Iran & Pakistan were in the same camp. I'm not even bringing up the issue of support Iran extended Pakistan both in the '65 & '71 wars which includes arms & ammo well documented in the memoirs of Kissinger.

You think dickraa here is unaware of all these developments? Or is he being his usual eccentric self?
