Is the Delhi class DDG expected to receive VL-SRSAM during MLU?
Yeah, could be, however I would assume the Batch 1 & Batch 2 Talwar class of FFG would get VL-Shtil first to increase commonality with Batch 3
They have retained the Fregat radar though which is tied to Shtil.
I'd imagined that they'd replace it with the Elta 2238 radar at some point (+BEL X-band MFR as on the Rajput DDGs). Doesn't appear to be happening though.
The secondary radar has been upgraded from a RAWL to a LANZA.
The sheer number of radars on that ship is mind boggling. To top it all, they seem to have added a third mast just before the helo hangar for EW/comms/esm now.
I understand the cost vs benefit angle and all that but the Aussies were able to upgrade their ANZAC class frigates (roughly same vintage) to GaN AESA.
Wonder why the IN couldn't work with the Russians on a more comprehensive upgrade.
