Indian cyber security and AI/ML based progress on the same is a joke. I don't know whom is the government fooling. Almost all government websites in India can't be accessed from abroad without the use of VPN. This only proves that how outdated and non robust the security set up is.

To avoid or minimize the cybersecurity incidents the government of India has reduced the exposure of their websites. I mean, what are they telling that if they close their eyes then such incidents won't happen?

I think, you need to really dig into what kind of people Indian government is recruiting to handle security. You are trying to be a global power and this is what the best you have got to prevent cyber security incidents.

Forget about developing an app that even comes closer to Instagram. The quality standards will suck. The old IITs have the capability and the youngsters can do it only if there is a private setup.

And most importantly any private firm having such app which stores data of a billion people will be heavily scrutinized in India by the politicians for vested interests.

very fact that India is not able harness its own human resources to build a world class digital infrastructure says a lot of about ourselves. Indians help build other companies/countries but cannot build their own properly, it says volumes about our leadership & culture.

We are facing catastrophic situation in tertiary education.

Your strength are AIIMS, ITI, IIT and IISc- If government has got people who know what they have to do, then ITIs must be given more budget to provide excellent handwork training in machine operation in collaboration with IITs and AIIMS,. Where as IITs should define the technology and tools.

Instead of hiring useless degree holders from random universities, ITI diploma holders must be recruited, they are more talented in the field of manufacturing, machine operations and small project planning and maintenance. And IITians must hold the project manager position.
