its being locally produced by BDL now, they partnered with thales for the production of starstreak missile, they signed the agreement on january 2021 for the ToT and production for the starstreak system also thales wanted to diversify its supply chain, order was expected on 2024 but it was ordered in 2025 exact numbers not in public domain, currently we are producing igla s, star streak, vshords if it gets ordered, igla s and vshords by adani, starstreak by bdl, and life cycle support for igla m, we do have diversify manpad but if not ordered in large numbers it will create logistic mess, cant increase the indian contents if not large number, and mpshord no clue what's going on with that View attachment 51926

The requirement for laser beam riding anti air missile was limited to the army. The requirement for VSHORAD and its man portable version is from all three services.

Starstreak/LMM was a back channel deal done for political reasons. It was signed around the same time as the India-UK FTA and that too without field trials.

If it really had a requirement for a LBRM, the IA could have easily chosen the RBS-70NG instead which had competed in successive VSHORADS tenders.

There could be more surprises in store with the India US interim trade deal which is around the corner. And I'm not just talking about the Javelin here.

Lol, I am at a loss for words 😂 😂 😂 😂
One of the four test flights carried out on 18-19 May, the missile (called Predator Hawk in Israel) broke into pieces in less than 15 km at a height of 7 km minutes after the launch,

India Conducts Spate of Tests for Anti-Ship, Land Attack, BMD And Hypersonic Ground Attack Missiles

India ’s DRDO successfully demonstrated multi-layered BMD against long range ballistic missiles by testing AD-1 and AD-2 missiles, anti-ship capability at medium range by testing the NASM-MR and strike capability with the Rudram-2 and LRLACM missiles.
